Sin. In what context? In what timeframe? Is one always living "in sin"? Is one's slate ever wiped clean? For how long? Does Jesus' blood become the non-stick teflon of our souls?

Yes, I have sinned. No, not recently(by God's grace :) In the context and timeframe of my entire life, yes, I am a sinner. In the context and timeframe of the last xxx number of seconds/minutes/hours/days/weeks/months/years ... no, I am not a sinner, but a saint of God. One cannot be a sinner and a saint simultaneously. A sinner is one who sins(continues in it). Consider the thief that was converted and has been an honest man for the last 15 years. Would you call him a thief still? (i.e. is a thief or was a thief?)

Now, lest any of you judge me unrighteously, ask yourself a question. Would God, who is fair and just TO THE MAX, command us to be holy(as He is holy - that would be not to sin) ... if it were not possible to do so?

No excuses please.

Are vanity or boastfullness a sin?

In the Orthodox Church, our most esteemed clergy prepare for communion by saying aloud, "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and cleanse me, a sinner."

Compare the humility within that statement against "I am not a sinner, but a saint of God" and tell me which one should come from the mouth of a Christian.

Before I answer your post above I would request that you answer a couple of quick questions:

1) What do you mean by "not recently"

2) What was your last sin.

Ok here's my confession. Since I got home, I turned on Jeopardy instead of watching TBN. Then without thinking I grabbed a quick snack which I should not have done. Then I failed to pray over my meal before I ate it. Oh yes and my meal consisted of meat and cheese (It was a Philly Cheesteak sandwich, which of course is a violation of Levitical law). Finally I ate probably more than I should have. (Gluttony is a sin, isn't it?)

Now Yesterday I had to go into work in order for my secretary to have some work to do today while I was out of the office. Now I could have worked on Saturday, but that would have been a sin to DouglasKC, but I chose instead to work on Sunday. Of course my Pastor works every Sunday, so he's in big trouble.

At any rate I don't think I've fallen short of the glory of God in the last 10 minutes, unless of course you consider typing on the internet instead of Praying and doing Bible Study a sin. I'm sure there are those who do.

Now what was your last sin and when did you commit it?
