Although I'm skeptical that there will be a real crackdown, I'll gladly welcome the news if its true. We, the laity, the faithful, joining the orthodox priests and religious in the country, need to pray for and encourage our bishops to heed the Vatican's call for traditional Catholic teachings. We can't sit idly by and expect anything to happen or not happen without our active participation.

It will come, but will have to be measured in "Church" years. The Pope can only speak, will others listen? Yes, and they already are and have been - they're the younger generation. The heterodox generation probably, short of a direct miracle of God, will have to die out. Until then, they will continue playing all their tricks and games. Their days are numbered though. They have no life giving message for Christians so that their real damage is measured by how many people leave the Church. The Church has seen, and survived, all this before. She will do so now!
