You seem to think a civilization that existed for only a thousand years, was utterly destroyed and lost for 1400 years should have the same kind of geographical proof as a civilization that existed far longer and was never totaly destroyed or lost. I don't see any logic in that. Every week on TLC you see one show or another on some long-lost, only now discovered civilization.

To say that there is no evidences of the BoM only just shows that you have only been exposed, or only listened to, one side of things and have never bothered to examine the validity of any of the claims. But Grig, the witnesses finally admitted that what they REALLY saw was what appeared to be a book---COVERED BY A CLOTH! They admitted they never REALLY saw gold plates!

My question still stands: From the time of the Apostles various men have claimed the scriptures were not translated properly or have been perverted. Of all the so called prophets who claim to have a special revelation from God to correct them, and there are hundreds, such as Marcion, Montanus , Paul of Samosata, Mohammed, Anna Lee,and Joseph Smith, why should we trust Joseph Smith?

Absolutely it would.

God gave us faith founded on the "word" which is proven more and more as time passes. So your question is irrelevent.

Though I am not "against" the LDS like many (though I DO dispute it's validity) I believe it to be fraudulent. I have many Mormon friends and have allied with them in good causes. Jesus the Only Way is the first step.. At least you get that right. However, like Catholicism, I believe both religions to be contradictory to the word of God. Both use their own scriptures (church writtings/book of Mormon) to contradict, cancel, change and control the Word of God and His Church. The true church does not hang on the teachings of men, but Christ. And anything going against those teachings or changing them is not authentic scripture! God Bless, Nate
