Why did not Cardinal Egan express any outrage over the desecration of his church? He was never seen after the event. He was quiet and seemed to do nothing; there were no press conferences, no rededication or blessing, no charges filed, no request for the FCC to investigate.
It seemed that Bill Donohue of the Catholic League led the charge where the Cat. League is not the official Church and the Cardinal is.

As I said, Egan's not high on my list of exemplary churchmen. He's more of a CFO than a cleric.

I would guess he realized his credibility has been gravely damaged by revelations about his cover-ups.
