We used a similar method in the years we were trying to get pregnant. A process which has it's own share of frustrations.
I wasn't sure what your idea was in saying, "I have to say steve I believe as the generation of the pill and the loop get older I suspect there will be significant payment for trying to fool 'Mother Nature.'"
We were able by God's grace (amid significant endometriosis and seven miscarriages) to conceive and give birth to our daughter -- now age 20. The additional use of Danocrine and Clomid were a part of the process.
We grew closer to each other through the years long process that prayerfully employed both natural and medical measures.

I suspect a bunch of new medical problems will arise..increases in cancer and other problems from 25 years of almost constant use
I would be interestd in the breast cancer rates in loop users...that is a "abortion a month " sometimes
