I know you won't believe this, but I somewhat believe the Bishop only because I've met him on numerous occaisons. A lot of the times I've met him, he didn't seem "all there," so to speak. Whenever I was serving mass with him, I can't recall a time that he prepared a sermon or even managed to show up on time to the service. He doesn't seem, to me, to be a person who pays much attention to details.

Bishops are highly educated people, I am sure he knew what was going on. He just refused to accept it and ignored it. "Things do not go away, they just get worse." Whether is a health ailment or an improper relationship.

He also recruited Fr. Alonzo who became rector of St. John's Cathedral, he too was a pedophile. He also allowed Fr. Hanley and many others to contiue with their evil ways. The Bishop sold Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic to settle a sex abuse case.
