I disagree with your conclusions regarding Dobson's staff, his son's divorce and his 'alliance' with people of other faiths.
Any large group of people [FOF employs hundreds] is bound to have some of its people, and even some leaders, involved in sin. And his son's divorce should be no reflection on him.
And the multi-faith coalition he has participated in, I understand is for cultural issues only. If this is true, I have no problem with it. But when it changes into 'spiritual oneness' with Muslims, etc., we have crossed a line that is very dangerous. Those 'pastors' who have done that [Hybels, Schuller, Dobson?] will have hell to pay.
However I do STRONGLY agree with your comments on "Christian psycology." Dobson is the worst. If there is a spiritual solution to someone's problem, don't count on hearing it from him, unless it is backed up by research from Freud, Jung or Masters and Johnson.
I will never forget his answer to a woman who was standing in faith for her wayward son, basing it on the scripture that says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Dobson's answer was, "Keep in mind this is a proverb, not a promise." [Ugh...]

Dobson's answer was, "Keep in mind this is a proverb, not a promise." [Ugh...]Dobson's beliefs seem directed by his theology. If you believe that salvation is a matter of clicking together the ruby red slippers and repeating three time" I want ot go home, I want to go home, I want to go home" . Faith is a matter of mans will so then it is necessary to prepare the will and entice the will so that the man will, desire Christ
God is not a part of this process. Mans will trumps Gods grace, so you must find man solutions to the problems that will block the mans will .
The problem is not Adams sin , and the solution is not Gods grace.
The problem is all man and the solution is therefore all man. If we can solve all the mans human problems then maybe he will want to seek God. When in actually God is the solution to the problems
Welcome to the results of the anti reformation Jesuit doctrine.
God can not work unless man allows Him to..
Mans will trumps Gods grace!
Psychology the doctrinal child of Arminism...the church of man! The couch is the pulpit , the DSM the bible. Man ..heal thyself ! Pathetic!
