Jesus would always go up to Jerusalem. He never went down to Jerusalem, always up. Jerusalem, was set on the Judean hills. It was the city of God. You never go down to God, you had to go up. The journey to Jerusalem had a special name, called "Aliyah", "the going up". When any Jewish person returns to Israel, they are said to be making "ALIYAH". They are going up. If you're born again, you're a child of Abraham and that means your life is to be an ALIYAH.
The direction of your life is never to be aimed north, south, east, or west, or on power or money or fame, or worldly success, or being loved. The direction of your life is higher. You're going UP. Every day is to contain a step that is higher than the step you took the day before. Going up - requires more effort and determination, but is glorious and full of joy. Every day you are given choices, as to where you will place your next step. Choose always the higher step. Don't compromise or give in to what is lower. Dare to go for the highest and you'll be amazed at what happens to your life. Your going up!
Psalm 89:15
TODAY'S MISSION
Choose today to move away from compromise or complacency. Take the step up to what is higher in God.
"If you're born again, you're a child of Abraham and that means your life is to be an ALIYAH."
I was doing some "Word" study last night and came upon the gospel versus that refer to "child of Abraham". I don't have my notes in front of me (I'll make note of it tonight) but there is also a Greek word for what "child of Abraham" meant prior to Pentecost. The literal meaning of the word is "a believer". Those who were truly a "child of Abraham" and looked to the promise of a Messiah were called "believers". This really blessed me. Thanks for the "timely" post "Going Up". ALWAYS!

Galatians 3:6-7
6) Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." 7) Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham.
Let us remember to keep persecuted believers in our prayers. Believers in Jesus Christ (children of Abraham) all around the world are still being persecuted for their faith today.
