I agree that the Adam /God thing makes no sense as we know God can not lie or be deceived..(I did not know that any in your church held that as real doctrine...I thought it was anti LDS web site material)
Me, too, on that last part.
Adam was known as Michael the Archangel before the Garden of Eden (and after his death, because Jude refers to him).
Adam and Eve were spirit children of God the Father, same as all the rest of us, before they were here on earth. We all came here to clothe our spirits with physical bodies. In our corruptible and fallen and limited state, we tend not to think of our physical bodies as a blessing, but in the resurrection we will be immortal and incorruptible, and we will understand all these things.
