Every community in Israel, be it a Kibbutz or a Settlement has an armoury as most Israeli males have been in the army when their turn comes to do ''shmera'' {gaurd duty} they will be issued a weapon usually an UZI sometimes an M16. There is also a sort of rapid reaction force in every settlement {by settlement I mean any isolated community on both sides of the green line} there job in a time of crisis is to secure there area and isolate any terrorists until the army arrives. In Judea Azza and the Shomron most of the citizens are armed {you can understand why}. Shalom

"His sub machine gun" is this guy LE or are regular citizens allowed to have those??? Just about male in Israel is either in the military or reserves. The country is so small, that they have to be able to mobilize on a moment's notice, so pretty much every home has a battle rifle or SMG. It's not unusual to see cute girls armed w/ SMGs on the streets! I sort of like the idea!

"His sub machine gun" is this guy LE or are regular citizens allowed to have those??? Regular citizens can have them, but they have to have permission from the government. However remember that most Israeli men are members of the Reseres of the IDF, and often are allowed and encouraged to take their weapons home, sort of like the Swiss, except the Swiss are required to do so, and who unto him who has shot up his issued ready ammunition. They get subsidized or sometimes free ammo to practice with at the gun range, but must maintain the "ready" supply in the home. Practice at the range, is encouraged, but AFAIK, not required
