So then you -- Democrats are liars -- admit that you don't know what Bush is saying behind the scenes. Yet you take the absolute position that Bush really wants Israel to withdraw before Israel is ready to withdraw on it's own terms.

All this to and fro about GW is pretty useless. While most of us here support Israel's right to defend herself, we must remember that the President's duty is to the USA and its citizens first. (I say this as an American Jew.) If it is in our interests to shmooze the Saudis enough to help our effort to take out Saddam, then so be it. Those nasty sheiks he is dealing with have complex political situations at home. This may be a case like us having to hold our noses and team up with Stalin to defeat Hitler. You do what you have to do. While Israel's long-term interests are the same as ours, that is not to say that our interests will coincide at every point in time. It is in their interests for us to defeat Saddam, who is undoubtedly the greatest threat not only to the region, but to the world.
