How is this relevant to anything?

The fact that you cannot see the parallels demonstrate empirically that your take on this situation is indefensible.

You, and others who have mysteriously morphed from Right to Left, see the so-called Palestinians as "justified" in their reactions to the Israeli so-called "oppression." Yet my ancestors, who truly were oppressed, did not resort to violence as a means to an end. If they had done so, I wouldn't be here today.

Moral relativism doesn't cut it. Right is right if no one is doing it, and wrong is wrong if everyone is doing it. What Arafat is doing is wrong, period. End of story.

Please do not use you imagination to fill in the blanks:

You do not know if I have 'morphed from right to left'.
I have never posted to this board before today, and in none of my points did I state I was 'left' or 'right'.
If you are of the belief that not agreeing with the party line on every issue means a person is some sort of 'traitor', you should join the socialist party.

The fact that you cannot see the parallels demonstrate empirically that your take on this situation is indefensible.
I can see parallels, but by leaning completely on this as an arguement you ignore the differences in both the slave and colonial cultures that would preclude strapping on bombs. Not to mention availability of technology and materials.

And, for you edification, violence perpetrated by slaves against masters did exist. Hence laws that prevented congregations of more than 5 slaves in a particular area, curfew laws, etc.

Succinctly put, and right on. I already know that your ancestors have their 'Promised Land' and they have my blessings. I also pray that my brothers and sisters of, as my Baptist pastor friend likes to put it, 'the darker hue' continue to seek after the 'King of Kings' where the 'peace that passes all understanding' shall rule--not the peace of politicians, pacifists, and predators.

Particular blessings unto you and yours, rdb3, you speak well for today, and give hope for the future--knowing that the 'tough love' of the Father is the only 'love' capable of defeating sin, the 'Evil One', and his 'minions'.
