That's the reasoning that's made sure no people that subscribed to a pacifist doctrine ever held power I am not a pacifist.
If somebody hits me, I'll hit them back.
However, hitting somebody back when I know the result will be him and his hillbilly family throwing rocks at my kids for the next 2 years is NOT wise, and finding another recourse is NOT pacifism.

If you knew that was going to happen, you should take steps to make sure the irrational hillbilly family was wiped out. Then you don't have to worry about it. They are already teaching their young children to hate whether Israel attacks or not. Their stated goal is the destruction of Israel. If you know that doing nothing or doing something is going to have the same result, you might as well do something.

Your true colors are coming out. Making fun of hillbillies. Now that's not nice.

"...finding another recourse is NOT pacifism..." Give me a recourse/solution that is neither war, nor pacifism. The last 8 years of 'diplomacy' yielded nothing but time for 'terrorist' buildup and escalation. You can appease until you achieve either total rebellion(war) or total surrender(pacifism). You can try a million things. The results are three things, a winner, a loser, and the start of another struggle.
'Blessed are the 'peacemakers', and sometimes peacemakers must fight wars and rumors of war to achieve the peace that is sought for ALL.
