Seek those things that produce the loving nature of Jesus in our lives. I would rather have the wrong facts and a right attitude, than right facts and a wrong attitude. But isn't it sweet grace when God gives you both the right facts and a right attitude? Ah, yes, sweet sovereign grace.

So bad is the church situation around here and so hungry were we for the Word that we attended a Calvary Chapel for awhile. Pastor taught some good stuff, but he had this bugaboo for the Biblical doctrines of sovereign grace, and authority. Some good fish, too many bones. Had to bail.
And this "{Blink blink} I don't want to get into doctrine" stance -- ay yi yi.

Chuck Smith really nails down the truth here. He mentions the necessity of being true to the Bible whether it's understandable to us at the moment in terms of our doctrinal constructs.
Even on eternal security he has recognized the truth that the Bible teaches.
He is totally sold out to the bible and for that he has my undying respect. He teaches more truth in one sermon/bible study than any other in all of today's Christendom.
I don't especially like the way he phrased "total depravity" above, and I'd probably make some changes in "election," but I'm POSITIVE that I'm dealing here with an honest, sincere Christian.
The greatest of these is LOVE. A new command I give you. As I have loved you, so you must love each other.
Praise God of Calvary Chapel and Chuck Smith. (And I'm not pre-tribulation rapture as he is.)
