Our thread in search of a patron saint for Catholic FReepers was a marvelous revelation. We have such a rich heritage as Catholics, that the possibilities are limitless. Although it is strictly unofficial (and no one elected me Pope) I would like to declare that we do indeed have a patron saint:

O Raphael, lead us toward those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us: Raphael, Angel of happy meeting, lead us by the hand toward those we are looking for. May all our movements be guided by your Light and transfigured with your joy.
Angel, guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whole unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Flannery O'Connor quotes this prayer, which she attributes to Ernest Hello, in a letter dated 14 July 1964, less than a month before her death.
God our Father, protect these priests who do Your work in Africa. Guide them on their mission, give them spiritual sustenance and material, as well. Let them have no burden but only confidence in You and in the work they do for Your glory as well as for the persecuted of Africa.
