I just found this thread, so I thought I'd comment on it, in spite of the fact it's been around awhile.

Disreguarding the dogmatism which always erupts from many corners concerning this subject, let me say this. Personally, I find that believing in a pre-Tribulation Rapture encourages holy living; for at any moment, one could find themselves standing before the living Lord. Granted, some of the more lazy and willfully ignorant Christians will use the Rapture as an excuse to cower and hide, as opposed to confronting evil, that is no worse than the Christian Reconstructionists who believe the world must be subdued before Jesus returns, or the amillennialists, who don't believe there are end times, that the world is getting better and better, etc.

Even things which are clear as glass can be muddied by sinful human nature. This is no exception. The only really important questions are in whose blood are you covered? Whom do you serve?

If the Church is destined to suffer through the Tribulation, then God's Grace will be sufficient for that day. If the Church is to be removed, not experiencing God's wrath, then it's a blessed hope for the future that should be cherished, as well as effecting how we live and deal with one another.

As for the theology, whenever a thread such as this appears, it's a given that the same old tired, dogmatic doctrines will be presented. Nobody learns from this. It's like a room full of people who all talk at once, and do not listen. Everyone wants to speak their two-cents, and they do. I could write several pages which would be an attempt to justify my own dearly-held doctrine, just as dogmatically as the others. Would anyone listen? Past experience tells me that no, they would not.

The Rapture question is not crucial to Salvation. Although Salvation itself is subject to dogmatic heresy, it is not so prevelent as the Rapture. Usually questions of Salvation are found coming from outside the Body of Christ.

So, I would modify the title of this thread to read: Will You be Ready to Meet Jesus when He Comes Again?

Sadly, many people who think they would, will find themselves left out in the cold.
