Jesus DOES enable us to become better. But your believing you can loose your salavation is believeing that you're doing the keeping. Jesus does the keeping. Our works our not our works, they are Jesus' works thru us BECAUSE we are saved, BECAUSE He is doing the keeping. Yes we do sin, because we still are in the flesh, but HE promises to keep us to the end blameless in the eyes of God. 2 Tim. 1:12

Hmmm... the way I'm reading Dave's posts here is that he is not saying that those who are truly saved can lose their salvation. Rather, he is questioning that one can know that one is truly saved. If this is correct, then it is not a matter of trying to maintain salvation by one's works, but rather that one cannot have certain knowledge of one's own salvation. Am I on track here, Dave?
For an example, let's use some of the pedophile priests. Are their works (pedophelia) the works of Jesus? Or have these priests utilized their free will to behave in an abominable manner? Are these pedophile priests saved?
