The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

You know this. Yes. What part of accidents and substance don't you understand? You must be lacking in faith.
Please go back to calling me a "brat." It is more endearing.
Or go take a nap or something.

Holy cow Al! Cedric Benson arrested for marijuana? You'd better hope Coach Brown is the forgiving sort cuz without Cedric you guys are cooked. :-)That was my first thought, too. Hopefully he's as teflon-coated as Michael Irvin! ;o)

On the other hand, doesn't it violate the laws of the universe to have a man hold up his hands and see a sea part? Or a walking stick to be thrown down and turn into a snake. Permanently?

or "Can God turn bread into His true flesh in a way that Angelo cannot measure?". The question here implies it's own answer. Or "Can God turn angelo into The Man of Steel, but in such a way that it is undetectible by any means, and does not change my physical properties at all? You posit a distinction without a difference.

No, it doesn't violate the laws permanently. They are temporary actions of God in the created universe.
(I think that's what you mean by your brief question.)
What were we talking about anyway, pi being 3?

Wait. He would need to know "how" to do it. That's omniscience again. Whew. :) LOL!

You are aware of faith, yes? The difference here means all the world. Whether God's Body is physically present with us in the world, where we can see it and touch it. Or not.
To science, there is no difference. But to faith it is whether we should stomp on a cracker or hold it high.

My only goal in life is to see you become one of us. If it were not for you I would not post another post on the Story, its all your fault that I'm still posting on here, so if you just give up, I'll leave everone here in peace.

Let me try another poor analogy here before I leave. Let us say that you were an adopted child, who did not know his parents. Then one day you discover who they were, and furthermore you discover that you are a Jew.
While, in the cosmic sense you always were a Jew, to your sense of self there is a new identity. Any outside measurement of angelo on the day before and angelo on the day afterwould show the same thing, physically.
But "who you are" would be substantially (literally) changed.

Within the created universe, sure. Kinda. Maybe. We don't expect God to violate the laws of the universe He created. On the other hand, doesn't it violate the laws of the universe to have a man hold up his hands and see a sea part? Or a walking stick to be thrown down and turn into a snake. Yet at the same time you'd say that Which God decided was unacceptable concerning his laws changed because the sacrifice changed - the which you cannot support as Catholics. Must be they just changed for you in your fictitious dreamworld where what you like is what gets you by...

Can God turn angelo into The Man of Steel, but in such a way that it is undetectible by any means, and does not change my physical properties at all? Yes. Without a doubt. He absolutely can. (How many ways can I say "yes"?)
Now the question is: "Did He ever say that He did/would?" In which case... you are.

Regarding the quote I posted over the weekend of Martin Luther. As promised, here is the source : The Reformation : A History of European Civilization from Wycliff to Calvin. 1300 - 1564, By W. Durant.

But Paul threw out all of the dietary laws, so eating the flesh and blood of a man is okay now. What if we only eat His divine nature instead of His human nature (you know, the only part Mary was the mother of)? Then it wouldn't be the flesh and blood of a man, right?

Can God create a stone so heavy He cannot lift it? We assume that God follows the law of noncontradiction. On the other hand, Aristotle's logic is not Scripture.

To science, there is no difference. But to faith it is whether we should stomp on a cracker or hold it high. You may have all the faith in the world, but if you chemically analyze that bread and wine, it is still bread and wine. To those without faith in this miracle, it seems absurd to say that they have been physically changed into the body and blood of Jesus.
