Good News For The Day

‘He struggled with the angel and overcame him; he wept and begged for his favor.’(Hosea 12:4)

"Jacob had spent most of his years rebelling against God. He had been full of good intention, but never kept his promises very well. The, on a dark night, he was accosted by the Angel of the Lord, who wrestled with him till break of day. During the struggle, the divine messenger touched his opponent's hip, and dislocated it. Jacob then had to fight on, maimed. It was then that he... realized---he was fighting God. In much the same way as a petulant toddler beats his little fists on his father'' shins, so Jacob had been raging against God."

"The Scripture reveals a God who is willing to allow ignorant, and stubborn men and women, to strenuously resist him. He lets the contest run on; all the while curbing his own might, in order not to irretrievably harm them. He is well able to cripple his feisty little assailants, but only to help them know that they are up against their own best interests."

"Such a God meets our case. We are foolish and angry, but in our madness, we are ever held by the arms of one who loves us infinitely. Our battle is only won, when he prevails over us, and we say to him> "I will not let you go, unless you bless me."

Ahh... nope, sorry, not really an answer.

Unless you can find a way to participate in an actual linear argument, I'm afraid you won't find me (or likely anyone else) very receptive to random Bible quotes and your amusing, but wholly unrelated annecdotes, name-calling, and other non sequiturs.
