There are 1049 power ways to genetically code the precise version of the cytochrome c molecule which humans and chimps have in common. That's a lot of ways to skin a cat.

Humans and chimps differ in their coding for this molecule by one base pair. That's not coming close to using the slop that's out there.

Okay, let's use your numbers of 10 to the 49th power to make the gene. Let's look at it the other way. A chimp (by the highest estimate) has 99% the same genes as man. Since man has at the lowest estimate some 20,000 genes that means man has 200 genes which the chimp does not have (at least). Let's give a real high estimate for when chimps and men diverged of 10 million years. Let's give a real low estimate of what a human generation is of 10 years. Let's give a really high estimate of humans of 10 billion right from the start. Let's multiply 10 million by 10 billion that gives us a one with 15 zeros. Divided by 10 (ten years for each generation) gives us a 1 with 14 zeros which is the number of possible tries to achieve one new gene. That leaves us with a 1 with 35 zeros chances left to try to produce just one gene. Now that is not a third of the way. A third of the way would be 6 with 48 zeros behind it. So the chances, even on this immensely favorable assumptions towards the theory of evolution would leave us 1 with over 34 zero years till we got a break even chance of getting a new gene the size of cytochrome c. It would leave us 200 times those years till we got all the new genes in which man and chimp differ. (note also that 1 to the 35th power years is also a lot longer than life is believed to have existed on earth and even longer than the believed age of the universe.
