I look at some of those threads now and see we were talking past each other more than I realized. I think I was unclear as to the nature of how the debate is framed here. So I came at it largely from a tallhappy type angle. The discussion always turned into a "yes, but that doesn't prove creationism".
For my part, I was unaware of the finer points of molecular biology (and remain vulnerable to that charge).
