You're absolutely wrong here. You make an assertion that a god exists, not the god you assert. If your god made the assertion, that would be the evidence, but all I have is the words of men and men, as everyone knows, are fallible.
What you mean to say is that you have defined precisely what evidence is admissable and will insist that G-d provide the evidence you asked for and you will reject anything else. Just like the people who insisted that the man let them in the door they asked for and rejected anything else.
Trot him out, that's all the evidence I need.
And this is what I don't understand.
And what I cannot understand is blind faith with no evidence.
Would the proofs of divine biblical inspiration be what you personally desire? Or perhaps the evidence for the resurrection? Or perhaps miraculous deliverances? Or would anything besides your personal desires be enough to demand from your Creator?
Luke 16:31 - If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.
I'm sorry, are you under the impression that He is a beast of whom I am the master?
I don't trot Him out, He comes when you call to Him. He is there for you to find. He desires a relationship with you.
But, as Jesus said: (Luke 16:31) "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"
Even if He were to appear to you tonight, you would convince yourself you were dreaming. There is no more complete evidence than what already is. It isn't a lack of evidence that is bothering you, it is a lack of will.
Open the eyes of your heart and you will see.
Shalom.
