There's no reasonable explanation, short of arbitrary fiat for the one entry rule.

Why do you care why the rule is made, as long as it is a rule that is easy to follow.

G-d Himself will carry you to the door. Why do you care that He insists upon that door as long as He makes it easy for you to go through?

Shalom.

What I'm questioning is why God would have created many doors into the feast and then demanded that we use one particular door. So the reason I'm questioning why the rule was made is because it appears to be non-sensical and I'd like to think that God is anything but non-sensical.

As far as Him carrying me to the door, it is still not as easy as walking through the door directly in front of me (the very door that He's most likely poking his head out of to tell me to use the other door!).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to deny God or the "feast" which He has prepared. I'm just trying to point out what seem to me to be flaws in the analogy.

Great story. Very simple and profound. Many are saying that it doesn't cover all of the bases, but I don't think that you meant for it to.

I have read many posts on this thread of people complaining that they don't agree with having to take the front entrance to the banquet, or "why can't an omnipotent God just take everyone in?" What they don't understand is that not only is Jesus "The Way" into the banquet but he is the banquet and the food itself. It is like someone saying that they want to go swimming without getting wet.

Ultimately the definition of Heaven is eternal fellowship with God. I know that for most unbelievers that does not sound real great, but when we begin to understand the true greatness of God (which we never fully will in this life) we can begin to understand why Jesus is The Way. We cannot have fellowship with God (i.e. heaven) and reject Him at the same time. Just as when you go swimming you are going to get wet.
