While the world makes entertainment out of death and darkness, Almighty God offers ETERNAL LIFE through His risen Son! Jesus declared, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25). His resurrection is God's glorious declaration that Christ's righteous sacrifice for our sins is finished and sufficient forever! He is the only Savior, the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life (John 14:6). To all who receive Him by faith, He gives the ETERNAL gift of becoming children of God (John 1:12), passing from death into life (John 5:24). What a glorious contrast! The world celebrates the imagery of death for a night, but Jesus Christ offers victory over death for ETERNITY! The greatest truth is not that the dead might return, but that THE ETERNALLY RIGHTEOUS ONE HAS RISEN, IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE, AND OFFERS HIS ETERNAL LIFE TO ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE IN HIM! (John 3:16; 1 John 5:11–13).
Dear friend, do you personally know the Lord of ETERNAL Life as your sin-bearer and Savior? That is the question we ask on this Halloween night! May it be so! Our ETERNAL future is to be like Him in RIGHTEOUSNESS FOREVER! Beloved, it goes ETERNALLY way beyond ghosts, goblins, and zombies!
For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 1 Cor. 15:53-57
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!! Maranatha!
Don’t like Halloween. Never did.
Happy Reformation Day! 😇
Amen.
Historical Background
Origins
Celtic Festival of Samhain: Halloween’s roots can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which celebrated the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It was believed that on this night, the boundary between the living and the dead was blurred, allowing spirits to roam the earth.
Christian Influence: In the 8th century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as All Saints’ Day, which incorporated some Samhain traditions. The evening before became known as All Hallows’ Eve, eventually shortened to Halloween.
Nothing evil in it...and today it’s just another commercialized day for companies to get rich.. like Christmas (only religious national Holiday) and Easter on the religious side both of which have their issues with Santa Claus (Nothing really to do with Saint Nicholas) and the Easter Bunny which smbolizes fertility and new life, which aligns with the themes of rebirth associated with Easter... anything for $$$.
Same for me.
Thanks for posting this.
Amen.
Give God in Christ the glory.
As a kid, I used to love Halloween. Now I don’t like it so much.
God bless.
