[Catholic Caucus] Vatican bars Traditionalists from St. Peter’s, no prayer allowed
Since 2007, grateful hearts have traveled to Rome on the anniversary of Benedict XVI's Summorum Pontificum motu proprio, which liberated the Latin rite liturgy after it was supposedly abrogated by Paul VI. Each October, faithful Catholics have participated in a pilgrimage through the streets of Rome which culminates inside St. Peter's Basilica. Even when the Mass they was denied to them, they held a prayer service over the bones of St. Peter, singing the Credo and overing thanksgiving. But this year? In an unprecedented move, and only days before their event was scheduled, they were denied even entry into the Basilica.
In a truly bizarre turn of events in Rome, the Vatican has informed the Summorum Pontificum pilgrims that they are not allowed to enter St. Peter’s Basilica for their annual pilgrimage of gratitude to the late Pope Benedict XVI for restoring the Latin Mass to the altars of the Catholic Church.
You read that right! The pilgrims will be barred by Vatican police from entering St. Peter’s. In other words, after the July SSPX “disobedience” the Vatican decided to make a prophet out of the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre who, forty years ago, argued that the Vatican can under no circumstances be trusted to do the right thing where traditional Catholics are concerned.
Turns out, he was right! The Vatican is in the process of cancelling the Latin Mass worldwide, driving Latin Mass Catholics out of their own churches, and now slamming the Holy Doors of St. Peter’s in their face.
Incredibly, this comes just after the Vatican opened those same doors to a LGBT “pilgrimage” of desecration into St. Peter’s Basilica last year.
Covering this story from Rome, however, Michael Matt argues that there is a silver lining to all this. What is it? Watch and see:

What if worshippers refuse?

“Residency, similarly, is granted under tight conditions and can be revoked at any time, underscoring the transient nature of living within the Vatican. Marriage and family ties offer no guarantees for continued residency, with the law stating that permissions for spouses and children cease under specific circumstances, such as annulment or separation. Furthermore, children of Vatican citizens lose their citizenship upon reaching adulthood, unless specific conditions are met.”

The church doesn’t want to get the muslims upset.

Maybe if the Catholic church concerned itself with preaching the Gospel to lost souls instead of acquiescing to Islam, loading countries with illegal immigrants, advocating for social justice, and letting a lavender mafia take control of the institution, they wouldn’t be hemorrhaging members, and the collection plate wouldn’t be so light.
