🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/7/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

Psalm 45[a]

For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil.[b] A wedding song.

1  My heart is stirred by a noble theme

    as I recite my verses for the king;

    my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.

2  You are the most excellent of men

    and your lips have been anointed with grace,

    since God has blessed you forever.

3  Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one;

    clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.

4  In your majesty ride forth victoriously

    in the cause of truth, humility and justice;

    let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.

5  Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies;

    let the nations fall beneath your feet.

6  Your throne, O God,[c] will last for ever and ever;

    a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

7  You love righteousness and hate wickedness;

    therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions

    by anointing you with the oil of joy.

8  All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia;

    from palaces adorned with ivory

    the music of the strings makes you glad.

9  Daughters of kings are among your honored women;

    at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir.

10  Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention:

    Forget your people and your father’s house.

11  Let the king be enthralled by your beauty;

    honor him, for he is your lord.

12  The city of Tyre will come with a gift,[d]

    people of wealth will seek your favor.

13  All glorious is the princess within her chamber;

    her gown is interwoven with gold.

14  In embroidered garments she is led to the king;

    her virgin companions follow her—

    those brought to be with her.

15  Led in with joy and gladness,

    they enter the palace of the king.

16  Your sons will take the place of your fathers;

    you will make them princes throughout the land.

17  I will perpetuate your memory through all generations;

    therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,

Our God,

How Excellent is Your Name over All The Earth!

For You Alone Are Worthy,

You Alone Are LORD,

You Alone Are The One True God.

We Praise and Worship You

and Love You with Our Whole Whole Heart,

Soul, Mind and Spirit.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

I try to avoid politics on this Thread, but today is such a tragic anniversary that I have to recognize it. Three years ago, Israel was attacked in the most barbaric manner, and the videos that the attackers gleefully recorded are so evil and cruel that most people haven't seen them. The Israeli government, out of profound respect for the dead, has kept them under wraps for these three years.

Before I continue today's story, I ask that we pause to Remember the Victims of that horrible attack.

Today's Psalm is a Wedding Song. It is generally accepted that David wrote it, not only for his own wedding(s), but for Royal Weddings thereafter. This reminds me of a piece by George Fredrick Handel called "Zadock the Priest", which is always played at Coronations in Great Britain. It's mostly instrumental, until the choir comes in with one line:

"GOD SAVE THE KING!

That's a good line. One would want God to save the king, and, if a king is righteous and "saved", it bodes well for the whole country. As David and Solomon both noted, when the Nation's leaders are righteous, the whole Nation benefits, but an evil ruler brings poverty, hardship, and oppression.

Christian readers of Psalm 45 interpret it as more than just a Wedding Song. They see it as a Prophetic Vision of Jesus the Messiah being joined with His Bride, the entire Body of Believers.

This is considered a "Royal" Psalm as well as a Messianic Psalm.

It's so much more than just a Wedding Song.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Indeed. The Arpeggios run through a gradually intensifying cadence of chords, and then BANG! The Choir explodes with "God Save The King!". It's amazing. 🤩

Amen to your word, we often are neglectful in being thankful, especially as a nation. For without Him we would be nothing. So, no matter what happens this hope can not be taken from us.

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
