🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (8/28/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

Psalm 5

Psalm 6

Psalm 6[a]

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. According to sheminith.[b] A psalm of David.

1  Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
    or discipline me in your wrath.

2  Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
    heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.

3  My soul is in deep anguish.
    How long, Lord, how long?

4  Turn, Lord, and deliver me;
    save me because of your unfailing love.

5  Among the dead no one proclaims your name.
    Who praises you from the grave?

6  I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping
    and drench my couch with tears.

7  My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
    they fail because of all my foes.

8  Away from me, all you who do evil,
    for the Lord has heard my weeping.

9  The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.

10  All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish;
    they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba, Father Who Art in Heaven,

Blessed Be Your Holy Name!

How we love to sing Your praises,

To Lift Up Your Holy Name in Worship,

For You Alone are Worthy of Praise.

For You are Holy,

Righteous and Just,

And Glorious in Majesty!

You Alone Are The One True God.

Perfect in All Your Ways

Ancient of Days,

King of Kings,

And Lord of Lords!

 Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance

Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

A bunch of us were sitting on the deck, enjoying BBQ and jamming on guitars. I suggested we play "Wild Horses" by The Rolling Stones. When my friend, an excellent guitar player asked about what key he should solo in, I innocently said:

"Well, it's in G, but since the Verses open on the Three Chord, you should probably solo in B Phrygian. And watch out for that Four of the Four Chord in the Chorus on the lyric "Drag me away". That's a F Major Seventh, and its a borrowed chord from the Four."

Everybody looked at me in stunned silence.

"Oh, Sorry." I said. "Just watch my hands. You'll know what to do.

You'd think I was talking Greek. Actually, I was talking "Geek", as in "Music Theory Geek".

Every profession has its own Jargon. Even though David was a self-taught musician, he ended up writing liturgical music for a complete orchestra and choir of Levites. There were strings, horns, percussion, male and female voices, and liturgical protocols to be dealt with. There were also David's personal emotions and prayers involved. We see songs of Repentance, Longing for God's Presence, Praise, Petitions, Pleas for Mercy, Victory, or Prosperity, and even a Wedding Song. There had to be some kind of Musical Language that could communicate to all those musicians the desired execution of the music.

The Modes and Scales in Western Music can be traced back to Ancient Greece, but David's Psalms pre-dated Alexander's "visit" by Centuries. So we can assume that David's System of Musical Language bore no resemblance to what is taught at Berklee these days.

Modern Biblical Scholars still haven't figured out what the musical notes in the psalms mean. The best they can come up with is that "To The Chief Musician" means that the song is for Liturgical use, and "Selah" is analogous to a musical "rest", or pause for reflection.

Today's Psalm has those, plus some Hebrew words that Scholars haven't figured out yet.

To them David may have said:

"Just Watch My Hands. You'll know what to do."

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessed Is The Nation Whose God Is The LORD (Psalm 33)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen to your prayer. Me thinks they played by ear and demonstration, that makes me more comfortable. Quite a harp David has, is it real or Ai? I am sure glad God makes beautiful spirit filled music, can’t wait to hear what they have up there.

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.

My prayers always. God bless.

It's my OPINION that there will be peace in the Middle East and all the world. It will happen about 30 seconds before our good Lord ends all of our existence. THEN there will be peace...but not one second before.

Just my opinion
