In receiving healing a lot of times people overlook something that seems so simple and yet are so powerful. And that is words, they play a huge role in receiving healing. And we can see that because the scriptures says that words are health-medicine/remedy/healing/cure to your flesh. In Proverbs 16:24 it says, Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. Proverbs 12:18 says, There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. Understand, that's when your words are in line with God's word for Proverbs 4:20-22 says, My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. The tendency is to seek healing from the outside-in, but it starts on the inside and works it's way to the outside. Words have effects on your body, Proverbs 15:30 says, The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat. You see in Psalm 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Notice, God satisfieth thy mouth, He gives you something to say to renew your youth (have an effect on your body). When Abraham and Sarah bodies were dead God gave them something to say, He changed their names to match his word for Abraham means father of a multitude and Sarah means Princess of nations. For in Genesis 17:5 God said, Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And about Sarah in Genesis 17:15,16 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Notice, their bodies were dead, but God's word is life. So, God's word brings healing, life, and renews your youth, WORDS. In the four gospels several times Jesus made statements like, "Your faith has made you whole," "According to your faith be it done unto you," "As thou hast believed so be it." How does faith come, by hearing WORDS. And how is faith released, by WORDS. Matthew 17:20 says, And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. How did Jesus heal people with WORDS.
In Mark 4:24 Jesus said, And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. Whose words will you expose your heart to. Whose words will you believe. Whose words will you speak. All of those things are important for 2 main reasons (1) Proverbs 4:23 KJV says, Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. That word issues means boundary or borders. Don't let other people tell you or set your boundaries, let God tell you. (2) Matthew 12:34 says, O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Notice, Jesus didn't say it was a good chance the mouth will speak, he said it will speak. So, you have to watch what you fill yourself with. And what you speak is important for James 3:1-4 says: My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
Notice, he is making a connection between your tongue(words) and your body. In verse 3 he makes the point that you control which way the horse body goes by his tongue. But, verse 4 takes it even further he says a ship is controlled by the helm whichever way the governor turns it. In that verse understand that your body is the ship, you(spirit man) is the governor, and your tongue is the helm. I like that because he says, even though it's driven by fierce winds it goes the way the governor directs it not the winds. So, what are you saying in that sickness, are you just going along with what everyone reports. See, guard your heart because out of it you will speak. God spoke to me one time and He said, "Understand one ship, one wheel, one captain and that's you." See, nobody can move your tongue for you, but they can influence you to move it. Nobody else is the captain of your ship, but you. Other people can tell you what's happening with the body for sure, but telling you what's going to happen that's the captain's job. Once you start speaking it now it's legal for the ship to go there because the captain has given the command. If you look up the word body in The Strong's Concordance it is the Greek word soma which means slave. What do slaves do, follow commands.
In Isaiah 53:1 it says, Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? I'm not saying anyone is wrong or shouldn't be listened to, what they are telling you about your body maybe fact, but God's word is truth. It was a fact that Abraham's body was dead, but in that fact God spoke the truth that He had made him a father of many nations. And by Abraham putting his faith in God's truth and not the fact of his body he received God's report. Jesus said in John 8:31,32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. How do you receive God's truth over your fact, Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. That word salvation means healing, deliverance, preserve, to save, do well. And notice it says that with the mouth confession is made unto those things. God knew what He was doing when He changed their names. Number one, faith comes by hearing, WORDS. And two, by WORDS you confess unto salvation. That word confession means to say the same thing.
In Hebrews 10:23 it says, Let us hold fast the profession(confession) of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;). Why is it so important to speak God's word, because God said in Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. The word will accomplish for you when you believe it in your heart and confess it with your mouth. That's what happened with Abraham and Sarah, they believed and spoke God's report. For Hebrews 11:11 says, Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. And about Abraham in Romans 4:20 it says, He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.
God's report (spiritual) supersedes all other reports of the (physical). 2 Corinthians 4:17,18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Your affliction works for you when what God has done becomes your focus and not what's happening with the body. Romans 4:19 says, And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb. Notice, he only focused on what God did and said. In 1 Corinthians 1:27,28 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are. When it says God uses things which are not it means things not manifested.
And He uses things which are not manifested through you by Romans 10:10. And when God's report manifests it will supersede your report of the natural. Notice, in Joel 3:10 it says, Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Notice, God is not denying circumstances, but He is making a distinction between what is manifested and what is not manifested. Weakness was manifested, but He said say you are strong because there are scriptures that says The Lord is your strength, and He has no weakness. Why do you think God told them to say that, because with the mouth confession is made unto it. That's what the scripture calls calling things that be not(manifested) as though they were(manifested). You are speaking a reality of the spiritual that is not yet seen physical, not denying circumstances. Abraham's dead body was manifested, but God told him to call himself-father of a multitude and he became a father of a multitude. If he didn't call himself what God told him to he probably would have never become a father of a multitude.
Understand, God's word is truth (John 17:17) and in James 3:14 it says, But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. When do you lie against the truth every time you speak contrary to what God has said. Because, Romans 3:4 in the first part of that scripture it says, God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar. So, speak the truth into your heart, Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. So that, you can do Matthew 12:34,35 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. When something is in your heart and you speak it out you bring that thing forth. If it's the truth, when it's in your heart in abundance speak it out and that truth will make you free from that contrary fact.
It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Love your teachings, Frank. Keep them coming. It’s not easy to find solid, Biblical truth these days.
