🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(4/14/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Exodus 17:8-16
8 Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
10 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
14 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:
16 For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
( The King James Version)

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

HALLELUJAH!
For The LORD,
Our God, The Almighty Reigns!
The Kingdoms of The Earth Are Become
The Kingdom of Our God,
And Of His Messiah!
And he Shall Reign Forever and Ever.
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

My Ninth Grade Spring Concert was coming up, and the Glee Club was doing a Patriotic Program in honor of Memorial Day. Miss Landrigan (whom we called "Miss Land-Dragon"), was doing something strange while our Glee Club rehearsed. At the back of the stage was a thin ledge, about a foot wide and four feet off the floor. It served no purpose, but while we were rehearsing, Miss Landrigan was busily arranging five boys up on the ledge behind us. We had strict orders NOT to turn around and see what they were up to. We were too busy practicing anyway.
Ninth-Grade BOYS, being what they are, made noise and horsed around on the ledge. WHAT was Miss Landrigan up to? It was quite distracting.
On the night of the concert, the back of the stage was discreetly covered with a curtain. GOOD! Whatever Miss Landrigan had been up to seemed to be over.
We did the whole program, ending with "God Bless America". We heard the curtain creak open and the audience rose to its feet. Some were clapping, some were cheering, and some of the Dads were CRYING! WHAT was going on?
All of us in the Glee Club turned and saw those five boys, in a perfect replica of the Raising of the Flag at Iwo Jima. Some of the Dads (including mine) had been there barely twenty years earlier.
My favorite picture of Dad is of him sitting on his front porch under a fluttering American Flag. The flag was one I bought for him in Hawaii, at Pearl Harbor. It had been flown from the mast of the USS Arizona Memorial. Dad was a Navy Veteran of WW2 and Korea, so that Flag was very special to him. (He enlisted right after the Attack on Pearl Harbor, and "finished High School" somewhere in the South Pacific). He flew that Flag until it was in tatters, and then we respectfully folded it up, retired it, and put it in a display case with its Certificate of Authenticity. It is hanging on my wall as I type this.
The Stars and Stripes meant so much to my Dad's Generation. That was the Flag that was raised on Iwo Jima, immortalized by photographer Joe Rosenthal. Seeing the Flag up on the hill is credited with giving the Morale Boost that the Marines needed to win that horrendous Battle.
A similar image by photographer Thomas Franklin showed Firefighters raising the Flag at Ground Zero on 9/11/01. At the time, it was recognized as a huge Morale Boost for the Emergency Personnel who had lost so many of their own, and for the People of the United States.
In Today's reading, we see the first real resistance that the Israelites encounter in their journey to the Promised Land. Moses is up on a hill, watching the Battle, accompanied by Aaron and Hur. Whenever Moses lifts his staff and holds it high, the Battle goes to the Israelites. When it drops, they start losing. Moses is an old man by now, and is getting tired.
But, like the Marines at Iwo Jima, and the FDNY Firefighters at Ground Zero, Moses has men on either side of him helping him raise the staff and keep it high up for all to see.
It is from this Bible Story that we receive another one of God's Many Names. This one is YHVH Nissi, "God My Banner".
It is not the staff that gives the miracle, but the God whom it serves. Just as we don't "worship" the Stars and Stripes, but honor the Nation, the Constitution, and the People who gave their lives so we can be free, so too we honor the God Who gives us the "morale boost" that we need to stand firm when the going gets rough. He is Our Banner waving high on that hill, or in the midst of the ruins. He is Our Victory over evil. He is Our Inspiration.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
