Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has insisted that the FACE Act only applies to abortion clinics, coming as the Department of Justice is probing possible violations of the law in relation to the storming of a St Paul church by anti-ICE agitators.
Speaking on former CNN host Don Lemon’s podcast, Ellison said, "Yeah, I'm familiar with the FACE Act. You know, in Minnesota, we have—we uphold the right of a woman to choose, and some of the activists, you know, will, you know, sort of—you know, they, so it’s…" He continued, "The law has to do with the, you know, whether or not people's freedom to protest in, generally, regarding reproductive clinics and things like that. So that's the FACE Act.
He later told Lemon, "And the FACE Act, by the way, is designed to protect the rights of people seeking their reproductive rights, to be protected, and so that people, for a religious reason, cannot just use religion to break into women's reproductive health centers. Right? So how they are stretching either of these laws to apply to people who protested in a church over the behavior of a religious leader is beyond me."
The FACE Act, or Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, does protect abortion clinics, however, it also prohibits the obstruction, intimidation, or interference of people exercising their First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship. The law also prohibits the intentional damage or destruction of reproductive health service facilities as well as places of religious worship.
Lemon has been criticized for being embedded in the group of agitators that stormed the church, with DOJ Civil Rights Division Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon writing, "No one has a right to protest by trespassing into a private house—especially a house of God almighty." She added, "Freedom of the press does not protect journalists, nor anyone else, when they are actively committing crimes."
Lemon told Fox News in a statement, "It’s notable that I’ve been cast as the face of a protest I was covering as a journalist — especially since I wasn’t the only reporter there. That framing is telling. What’s even more telling is the barrage of violent threats, along with homophobic and racist slurs, directed at me online by MAGA supporters and amplified by parts of the right-wing press."
"If this much time and energy is going to be spent manufacturing outrage, it would be far better used investigating the tragic death of Renee Nicole Good— the very issue that brought people into the streets in the first place," Lemon continued. "I stand by my reporting.”

These Marxists are the mothers of all lies. In this case, AG Keith Ellison is telling half-truths. He should be investigated.
He is saying “the laws are for thee but not for me”.
The communist Democrats do occasionally let the mask slip and show the public what satanic tyrants they truly are. This is one of those times.
Ellison has been a small time punk, who’s rise to AG was only because corrupt democrats have run the state for decades.
He fits the Walz/Flanagan/Klobuchar/Smith/Frey corruption model, and is too stupid to realize he’s nothing but a tool.
This new Fed investigation should be interesting, as he was a shady character from the very beginning in Mpls. politics.
Yeah, you know, so it’s, well, uh, you know, a, you know, a uh Federal Law that uh, you know, uh , only protects communist abortionists free uh you know uh choice, sorta says, you know, Ellison.
The stink of Minnesota is revolting. I can only imagine what is happening in our Washington State. I know the NGOs all poured money into Democrat political campaigns. These NGOs are supported by our tax dollars. The Dems are looking to suck more money out of us with an unconstitutional state income tax. That is something my fellow Republicans tried to warn the voters would happen as we went door to door.

Interesting. Looks like he now knows it was against the law, so he saying he was just a journ-o-list there. Before he seemed adamant that it was legal and he was participating in an anti-ice event. That sure turned quickly…….
FACE act :
“From 18 U.S.C. § 248(a)(2) (the main provision protecting religious exercise):
(2) by force or threat of force or by physical obstruction, intentionally injures, intimidates or interferes with or attempts to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person lawfully exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship;”
So it explicitly mentionned “place of religious worship”. Those goons think that their baby killing churches are the only churches protected by the law, which, the irony is deep here, was introduced by one of theirs, the cavorter & aborter Bill Clinton.
Keith Ellison is a drowning man grasping at straws.
That strategy rarely works. But it does speak of desperation.
You omitted your sarc tag. /s
If ever there were a chance for Minnesota to correct some major wrongs, it’s the upcoming election.
The dumbocrats have overplayed their hand with all this fraud, and there are some good opposition candidates appearing already.
If they can control the DFL vote fraud/ballot harvesting, they have a good chance to flip MN red. Time will tell.
So a liar and/or illiterate.
Deep State got what it wanted with him, eh...
Ignorance isn’t bliss, it’s Keith Ellison.
I bet it protects mosques.
He can’t read. It clearly says houses of worship.
