Recently, President Donald Trump left many people concerned about the state of his eternal destination after stating that he was unsure if there was anything he could do to make it to heaven.
In an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Trump clarified what he meant by his statements.
“When I made that statement, I was being funny, sarcastic, you know it’s bad for a politician to be sarcastic,” Trump said. “I was kidding, I was having fun. I don’t know if I will or not, I don’t know.”
He also discussed the New York Times’ piece on his statements, noting the outlet’s critical perspective.
“I was having fun,” the president said. “And they made it like, serious. The thing I thought I learned but I forgot about it, I guess…you can’t be sarcastic as a politician or have fun, but I don’t regret it.”

No matter who we are—politician or everyday person—the truth remains the same: there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ…As believers, we should continue to pray for our leaders, including President Trump. May the Lord draw him closer to a personal revelation of Jesus Christ, giving him peace and assurance of salvation through faith alone.

Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you will be in!
That’s it!
there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ…
To those who are absolutely certain they know the mind of God, go ahead and castigate me.
Christians aren’t exactly known for their sense of humor. If they were, they might win a few more converts.
No one is getting within a thousand light years of Heaven on their own merit.
The Bible backs you up.

Christians aren’t exactly known for their sense of humor. If they were, they might win a few more converts.
“If a person commits a crime and doesn’t repent, what good did it do him? Someone else might just as well have committed the crime.”
I do remember a campus evangelism out reach. “If you died tonight, would you go to heaven?” I responded, “I trust God For that.” It didn’t fit their scripted responses. I still still stand by my response, acknowledging God is important in the response.
> there may be many ways to come to Jesus Christ <
That has always been my belief.
Here are two examples. Suppose someone lives and dies on a remote island without hearing of Christ even once. Or suppose an infant dies before accepting Christ.
Are those two people denied Heaven, or can something possibly happen after death?
Hear, hear. A weak joke.
It’s worth noting that not all Christians believe in “once saved, always saved” or in an “absolute assurance of salvation.” Not here to argue the merits of each position as there are equally compelling biblical arguments for both, just a clarification for those who might not know.
Is there such a thing as a remote island anymore? That seems like veering way into the hypotheticals of theology.
Prayers are needed now more than ever before.
Correct.
That’s absolutely right.
Big time.
Well, there's North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean.
The people there are in permanent aggro mode. Anyone from the outside setting foot on the island is insta-dead.

CCC 161: Believing in Jesus Christ and in the One who sent him for our salvation is necessary for obtaining that salvation. "Since "without faith it is impossible to please [God]" and to attain to the fellowship of his sons, therefore without faith no one has ever attained justification, nor will anyone obtain eternal life 'But he who endures to the end.'"
CCC 162: Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to man. We can lose this priceless gift, as St. Paul indicated to St. Timothy: "Wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting conscience, certain persons have made shipwreck of their faith." To live, grow and persevere in the faith until the end we must nourish it with the word of God; we must beg the Lord to increase our faith; it must be "working through charity," abounding in hope, and rooted in the faith of the Church.
CCC 847: This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church: Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.
CCC 848: "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."
I’d bet that there are tens of thousands of people today who have never heard of Christ. And in the last 2000 years, millions more.
Yes, some of them were on remote islands. Others were in remote villages in Pakistan, etc. So I think my example still stands. What is to become of those many, many people?
I was having fun.
Something the media doesn’t have much of or understand it.
