Why are more and more Muslims converting to Christianity?

In recent years, a surprising trend has emerged: more and more Muslims are converting to Christianity.

But what is driving this shift?

At the heart of many conversions is a deep desire for a personal relationship with God…For many Muslims, the message of grace, forgiveness, and love is incredibly compelling.

In Islam, there is a strong emphasis on works, laws and obedience. While these are important values, some Muslims who convert to Christianity find a sense of freedom and peace in knowing that they don’t have to earn God’s love—it’s given freely through Jesus. According to Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

One unique aspect of Muslims converting to Christianity is the number of stories involving personal encounters or dreams. Many Christian converts from Islam share testimonies of having dreams or visions of Jesus, leading them to faith.

Christian programming and ministries are now broadcasted into Muslim-majority countries through satellite networks. This allows people in countries where Christianity is suppressed to hear the Gospel without fear of persecution. These broadcasts have sparked many conversations…

Although converting from Islam to Christianity can be dangerous—sometimes even punishable by death under Islamic law—it hasn’t stopped the spread of Christianity in Muslim-majority countries. From the Middle East to Central Asia, Christian missionaries have been working tirelessly to share the message of Jesus. This has led to an increase in conversions from Islam in some surprising places.

Moreover, some reports, like this New York Times article about Albania, show that the Muslim converts to Christianity are often hidden, fueling curiosity and discussion about Christianity. Although these discussions are often controversial, they bring attention to the growing number of Muslims converting to Christianity.

It couldn’t have anything to do with the idea of a cult versus a true religion?

I just spent 16 days in Lahore, Pakistan. Before the trip I thought I'd get used to the Muslim calls for prayer over loudspeakers in every neighborhood. I thought maybe the call would be pleasant, like someone singing Christian hymns. But nope, it was grating and obnoxious wailing. Or someone yelling over the loudspeakers, sometimes at 3 AM! The first call to prayer hits at around 4:50 AM every day. It's like they use sleep deprivation as a brainwashing tool on the masses.

The 5 pillars of Islam and the invasive calls to prayer emphasize how Islam is a legalistic, loveless religion that focuses on external rules and outward behavior, rather than a person's heart and personal relationships. You can be a thoroughly rotten person with a black heart of hypocrisy, hate and evil, but if you say your prayers, give alms, do your pilgrimage and so on, then you can be a good Muslim because you followed the outward rules. That some would find this superficiality revolting and seek something more meaningful and deeper is not surprising. Compare these rules and behaviors with Christ's preaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew ch. 5-7) and the difference is profound.

It’s worth it to gain salvation, but Islamists will kill them. There is no escaping the death cult.

One can hope.

In the meantime, we must take steps to stop and roll back Muslim influence and power in the United States.

What is more appealing?

A God who will send his only begotten son to die for you?

or

A God that demands that you send your son to kill for him?

Given their propensity to lie to attain their goal, I don’t believe them when they say that they’ve denounced Islam. With the Jihadis, one absolutely must assume guilt until innocence is proven.

Nor do I believe it anymore than I believed in the embrace of the Christian church by the alphabet hoards (LGBTQ yada yada). It is infiltration for the purpose of corruption and destruction from within. Stop being fools.

Given opinions on this thread so far, it seems some think the phenomenon real and others not.

For many years, I have sampled different sources, and suspect the phenomenon is real.

But it also includes those Muslims converting to some form of Christianity, and some apostates going to atheism of agnosticism of a modern secular sort.

The murderous side of the Muslim fanatic is off-putting to other Muslims, and is in part driving so-called apostasy. I venture to say it is real, which is in part why the radicals are so angry at the world everywhere.

Rather like Leftists.

I have had the opportunity (briefly) to teach Muslims in a predominantly Muslim country. Three things that I might mention:

1. In Islam, women are not treated well. They are subordinates. In Christianity, although there are some male and female roles, women are treated substantially different in Christianity. Paul says that we are “neither male nor female”. Christianity has, therefore, a certain attraction to Muslim women.

2. Christianity has the concept of family that Islam does not. Christians are referred to as “children of God”. Islam does not have that concept. Muslims are not considered to be children of Allah. They are not part of his family. They are merely his servants.

3. Muslims have to hope that they are saved. The idea that the good has to outweigh the bad is a prevalent notion in Islam. Although Christians are called to live a radically holy life, they do not have to fear the future. Grace is a concept much more inherent in Christianity than in Islam.

Muslims need love. They need family. They need hope.

Stop being fools.

No, you stop being a fool. Just as many who call themselves Christians in western lands are nothing of the sort, many Muslims are non-practicing, skipping things like the daily prayers as they go about their lives. They are not all radical jihadists. Most are superficial in their adherence to Islam, just like among professing Christians.

There is a phenomena lately where many Muslims are being saved after encountering Jesus in a dream. It's widespread and fairly remarkable, with many accounts now extant. However they receive the Gospel, the vast majority of these converts are not emigrating to the West to "infiltrate" us as you imagine. Instead they face severe persecution.

In Lahore I just visited 2 villages of Christians who are held in debt slavery by brick kiln owners. How do these poor and oppressed converts fit into your imagined plot to infiltrate non-muslim lands? They can't even leave their villages!

Islam is more of a culture than a religion. There are tons of MINO’s especially on campus. I worked with a Muslim and he would eat pork (especially bacon) but never in front of family. We have soccer and cricket matches between Pakistani and Indian students. The Muslims sometimes are supposed to stop a pray during a game but very few of them do it.

Decades ago, I knew a Lebanese Muslim family in LA. Not a veil in sight.

Mom was a wonderful cook, quite intelligent and ruled the roost. One of her sons was an MD, who was my friend. The other was a movie producer. I was writing books for children at the time and the Muslim mom gave me many good ideas. She liked me a lot, made a few moves toward getting me to marry her son but I wasn’t interested and he wasn’t either.

Anyway, not all Muslims are idiots. I’ve heard that Lebanese Muslims usually have a clue. This family arrived in the US decades ago. Opened a little tea shop in some Michigan town and three generations later sold their many shopping centers for $$$billions. Gave millions to charity.
