Oh LORD,
Our God!
You Have Made The Heavens,
And The Earth By Your Great Power,
By Your Word and By Your Outstretched Arm,
And Your Have Given Us Your Breath of Life By Your Sovereign Will.
Nothing is Impossible For You,
Indeed, Nothing Surprises You,
For Your Are The Beginning and The End,
The Aleph~Tav,
The Alpha and the Omega.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,

Here's a Family Story from Long Ago:

The 1941 Boston Red Sox were playing the New York Yankees, and Mom was a 15-year-old girl with a HUGE crush on Dom DiMaggio, who played for the Sox and was The Great Joe DiMaggio's little brother. She waited outside the back door of Fenway Park to get his autograph, and ended up getting the signatures of the entire 1941 Team including the Bat-Boy. Then, Joe came out the door to hang out with his brother and she got his autograph too. She was late getting home and her parents were sick with worry, as nobody had cell phones in those days. When she showed her autograph book to her Dad, all the anger flew out the window and Grandpa shook her hand and patted her on the back. "ATTA GIRL!" he crowed!(Grandpa was the King of the Red Sox Fans, but he loved Joe DiMaggio too)

Mom left her autograph book to my nephew Matthew, who was a bigger red Sox Fan than anyone else. He even has a Red Sox tattoo! I imagine that book would get five figures at auction.

Years ago, when I shared this story, it was for a totally different Scripture. But here's how it relates today.

The last time i saw that Autograph Book was in 2015, when my Brother read my Mom's will, and the book was handed over to Matthew. Matt lives far away, in the upper Midwest, and I'm sure that the book has only increased in value . Just because I haven't seen it myself in ten years doesn't mean that it has ceased to exist.

The People of Israel had been in exile for 70 years. Although scholars and prophets were active during these seventy years, I imagine that the People didn't have easy access to the Torah (The Law of Moses). Since The Law was handwritten on big, heavy scrolls, it wasn't something they could look at any time they wanted. And so, it was "Out of Sight, Out of Mind".

But, like that Autograph Book, the Law was still Authentic, Valuable, and Valid. Nevertheless, without it readily available, the people did whatever they wanted.

Then, God Kept His Promise. Seventy Years after the captivity, as prophesied, a delegation of builders, priests, and exiles were allowed back into Jerusalem to rebuild.

Ezra, a Priest, called the People together to read the Law. A large podium had been set up. People expected the worst, because they had strayed from the Law, most notably by marrying foreign women and adopting their "gods". The People were in a bad mood to begin with, but now it was raining on top of everything else.

Rain in Jerusalem is rare, and usually cause for celebration. People actually dance in the streets when it rains.

But there was no dancing that day. Ezra was about to "lower the boom".

Both the rain and The Law can be freeing, cleansing, and renewing. But the process isn't always easy, and when sin is involved, it can be pretty miserable.
