St John the Divine is a beautiful church on the upper West side of NY City, built by 19th century elite of America’s largest city and economic capital, to show their devotion, their pride in their country, and to rival churches in Europe.

These people don’t exist any longer, and indeed America’s elites are no longer interested in building churches or showing their devotion.

The people who inherited and now run this church can hardly be called the heirs to those who built it.

Many moons ago I attended a service at that church back in the 1980s. I got introduced to NYC crime for the first time by having my vehicles window smashed and a travel bag stolen. It was a royal hassle to deal with but I managed to eventually escape NYC.

To the extent that the Episcopal Church has a future, this is probably true.

“The appointment of Varghese, a queer woman of Indian descent, to the prominent pulpit represents the Episcopal church’s continued push toward inclusion and its outspoken embrace of many progressive causes, especially around immigration and LGBTQ affirmation.”

‘Nuff said.

Gave women a few chances to be pastors. Big problem is they’re not leaders and it’s not biblical.
What man will have a woman lead in battle whether flesh or spiritual. There’s places for women in leadership roles, just not the head of a church.

ance. While the cathedral was once a bustling place with thousands attending multiple services each week, it now sees a significantly smaller congregation, with only one or two services on Sundays and approximately 350 parishioners.

The cathedral’s Sunday services have decreased from five or six to one or two per week.

Winnie is the future of the Anglican “church”

“She lives in New York City with her spouse”
Her “wife”, not a husband.

That is partly why I posted this. I saw pics of that church and I got a feel for those who built it. They have to be rolling over in their grave.

Not much sense in attending that church anymore.

Evil is territorial.

Satan has taken most if not all of NYC.

Including the churches.

Just because a building has the architecture of a cathedral doesn’t make it a Church. LGBTQ +-/@#$& has no place in a house of worship, let alone the pulpit. God has given his instruction on this issue and he shall not be mocked.
