San Dieguito United Methodist Church is a progressive UMC congregation in Encinitas, CA. Led by Rev. Dr. Mark Maddix, they pride themselves on being a “welcoming and inclusive community” that endeavors to “think critically, love authentically, and serve passionately.”
Rather than believing the bible is inspired and inerrant, they instead “view Scriptures through the lens of church tradition, human reason, and lived experience.”
This low view of scripture perhaps explains a recent church service, where rather than have their usual worship set consisting of songs that praise the Lord and give him glory, they invited a Beatles tribute band to play Beatles tunes, including Let it Be, I Want to Hold Your Hand, Eight Days a Week, and, Twist and Shout.

UMC is beyond redemption it seems.
Well, that makes sense. They are not a Christian church, so why would anyone expect them to have Christian songs?
Lived experience?? Really?
Honestly, that was probably a better use of everyone’s time and less soul-damaging than it they had attempted something “religious.”
All this to justify perversion.
Encore: “Hey Judas”.
“Jojo was a man who thought he was a woman”
See, it’s perfect!
Twist and Shout was first released by the Isley Brothers.
Surprised the band didn’t play “Imagine”.
Future dead congregation....why they didn’t play “Highway to Hell” is beyond me.
It is asymmetrical warfare against Western Civilization.
That was actually “Sweet Loretta Martin”.
Jojo just thought he was a loner, and then took off from Tucson AZ for “California grass”.
Church? Who knew.
When the women of the church all got up and started line-dancing to country music is when I got up and left the last one I attended. Not a lick of respect for the Lord or the church. Righteousness? Holiness? What good is that stuff in this day and age? Toss all that old-fashion “religeous crap” out the window and crank up that Hank Williams Jr. music!!!! Let’s dance, girls!
Me? Gone.
Satan’s Army never rests.
The church is just getting back to its pagan roots.
