It was started by Morris Dees, whose wife divorced him for trying to force sexual perversions on her.

In 2019 the SPLC fired Dees for - - - you guessed it: sexual misconduct! The organization is essentially antichrist in its broadest terms. It survives to make money, heavily supported by all the media that you would immediately scoff at. No decent person or group has escaped its putrid bile.

Interesting. I may be pretending naivety here but, why hasn’t the FBI tagged the SPLC as a hate group for tarring others as hate groups? Does it really take one of “our” non profits to do it?
