🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(6/1/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 15:1-21
The Song of Moses and Miriam
15 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:
“I will sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.
2 “The Lord is my strength and my defense[a];
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 The Lord is a warrior;
the Lord is his name.
4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.[b]
5 The deep waters have covered them;
they sank to the depths like a stone.
6 Your right hand, Lord,
was majestic in power.
Your right hand, Lord,
shattered the enemy.
7 “In the greatness of your majesty
you threw down those who opposed you.
You unleashed your burning anger;
it consumed them like stubble.
8 By the blast of your nostrils
the waters piled up.
The surging waters stood up like a wall;
the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy boasted,
‘I will pursue, I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils;
I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword
and my hand will destroy them.’
10 But you blew with your breath,
and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead
in the mighty waters.
11 Who among the gods
is like you, Lord?
Who is like you—
majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
working wonders?
12 “You stretch out your right hand,
and the earth swallows your enemies.
13 In your unfailing love you will lead
the people you have redeemed.
In your strength you will guide them
to your holy dwelling.
14 The nations will hear and tremble;
anguish will grip the people of Philistia.
15 The chiefs of Edom will be terrified,
the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling,
the people[c] of Canaan will melt away;
16 terror and dread will fall on them.
By the power of your arm
they will be as still as a stone—
until your people pass by, Lord,
until the people you bought[d] pass by.
17 You will bring them in and plant them
on the mountain of your inheritance—
the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling,
the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established.
18 “The Lord reigns
for ever and ever.”
19 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen[e] went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.
20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our One And Only God!
How Wonderful,
How Excellent,
How Glorious Is Your Most Holy Name!
How Fitting and How Good It Is To Praise You,
and How Humbling It Is to Even Begin to Recognize to Extent of Your Glory.
For Your Are Without Limits,
Eternal,
Immortal,
Omnipotent and All-Knowing.
You All The God Who Sees All
and Hears The Restless Whisperings of my own Heart.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Psalm 12
To the leader: according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
1 Help, O Lord, for there is no longer anyone who is godly;
the faithful have disappeared from humankind.
2 They utter lies to each other;
with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
3 May the Lord cut off all flattering lips,
the tongue that makes great boasts,
4 those who say, ‘With our tongues we will prevail;
our lips are our own—who is our master?’
5 ‘Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan,
I will now rise up,’ says the Lord;
‘I will place them in the safety for which they long.’
6 The promises of the Lord are promises that are pure,
silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
purified seven times.
7 You, O Lord, will protect us;
you will guard us from this generation for ever.
8 On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among humankind.

I was annoyed with the Brilliant Songwriter Paul Simon. He lifted the entire melody for "American Tune" (1975) from the Chorale from J.S. Bach's St. Matthew's Passion. Then I learned that Johann himself had lifted the tune from "Oh Sacred Head Now Wounded", attributed to St. Bernard of Claiveaux back in the Eleventh Century. Now we're really going back in time.
Still, I hoped that such an illustrious songwriter like Paul Simon would at least give attribution to Bach. Maybe he did, later on, but it was long after 1975.
As I read more about Bach's wonderful Cantatas, I learned that he wrote a new one every Sunday for nearly four years. The Cantatas were designed around the Readings for each Sunday, and contained the Hymns that were appropriate for the Liturgical Date. These familiar themes were called the "Canta Firma", and Bach composed connecting recitatives so that the hymns from the Hymnal became a Story, with soloists, beautiful settings for the familiar hymns, and so on. A Cantata usually was about twenty minutes of pure music, but Christmas, Easter, and Holy Week were special, and St. Matthews Passion clocks in at 2 and a half hours.
Imagine going to Church and hearing a World Premiere of a Johann Sebastian Bach Cantata every single Sunday. And, because of the Canta Firma, you could sing along and be a part of it.
I've been involved in Contemporary Church Music for over 40 years. One of the earliest songs I learned was based on Today's Verses , the Song of Moses and Miriam:"Horse and Rider Song".
Little did I know that the Melody for this song was lifted from an Israeli Song called"Tsena, Tsena,Tsena" (1941)
It looks as though Tsena, Tsena, has gone through as many changes as "Oh Sacred Head" but in reverse. "Oh Sacred Head" went from the Sacred to the Secular, while "Tsena, Tsena" went from the Secular to the Sacred. All I can say is that I know a Good melody when I hear one.
