đşđ¸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem đŽđą(5/31/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 14:1-31
14Â Then the Lord said to Moses, 2Â âTell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. 3Â Pharaoh will think, âThe Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.â 4Â And I will harden Pharaohâs heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.â So the Israelites did this. 5Â When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, âWhat have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!â 6Â So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him. 7Â He took six hundred of the best chariots, along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them. 8Â The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. 9Â The Egyptiansâall Pharaohâs horses and chariots, horsemen[a] and troopsâpursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.
10Â As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11Â They said to Moses, âWas it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12Â Didnât we say to you in Egypt, âLeave us alone; let us serve the Egyptiansâ? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!â
13Â Moses answered the people, âDo not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14Â The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.â
15Â Then the Lord said to Moses, âWhy are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16Â Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. 17Â I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18Â The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen.â
19Â Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israelâs army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, 20Â coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.
21Â Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22Â and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
23Â The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaohâs horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. 24Â During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. 25Â He jammed[b] the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, âLetâs get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.â
26Â Then the Lord said to Moses, âStretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.â 27Â Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward[c] it, and the Lord swept them into the sea. 28Â The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemenâthe entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
29Â But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. 30Â That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. 31Â And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

On the Big Island of Hawaii is one of the World's most Active Volcanoes. From time to time, Kilauea gets very active and devastates entire neighborhoods. The heavy seismic activity has moved the vent down the slope and back up again. I have visited Kilauea with my husband, my sister, and my best friend, who died in my arms in a helicopter as we went near the vent. (She had an aneurysm, the volcano had nothing to do with it). I have a "thing" about Volcanoes.
Kilauea is a "Shield Volcano", which is less explosive than the "Andesite Volcanoes". This "Explosive" type of Volcano erupts with tremendous force, often destroying the entire mountain in the process. America's Mt. St. Helen's is a perfect example of that. We all watched in fascination as the whole side of the mountain exploded outward, forever changing the shape of the mountain and the landscape.
A guitar student of mine just got back from Greece. One of the islands he visited was Santorini. Santorini got its present shape and size due to a huge Volcanic Explosion sometime in Antiquity. It is theorized that the legend of Atlantis was due to the massive destruction that occurred on Santorini. The "mystical" Atlantis stuff came later, but there HAD been a big island there that was totally destroyed. The present island is the remnant of the shattered rim of the Volcano.
Another theory about Santorini has arisen in the last few decades. Some scientists, who can't abide Divine Intervention, posit that the Explosion of Santorini caused a huge Tsunami in the Mediterranean. A Tsunami is heralded by the massive receding of the water before it comes crashing back in the form of a wave. "Aha" they say. "That must have been what caused the Parting of the Red Sea!"
If they want to believe that, it's OK, because WHAT caused it all to happen at the very moment Moses and the Israelites were camped by the side of the sea, with Pharaoh's Army in hot pursuit? Do the scientists claim that The Pillar of Fire" was the Volcanic Eruption on Santorini? Do they realize that by putting forth these theories, they are admitting that this Biblical Event actually happened?
I laid all these theories out for my student, who is usually a bored teenager who has been raised in the Hindu religion. His eyes grew as wide as saucers, because none of the Tour Guides on Santorini had brought any of this up. It gave him a whole new perspective on Santorini, and I suggested he look up Exodus 14 to get the Whole Story.đ¸

Psalm 61
To the leader: with stringed instruments. Of David.
1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I call to you,
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I;
3 for you are my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
4 Let me abide in your tent for ever,
find refuge under the shelter of your wings.
Selah
5 For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Prolong the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!
7 May he be enthroned for ever before God;
appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
8 So I will always sing praises to your name,
as I pay my vows day after day.

Fascinating!

I’ve excepted the Miracles as Fact and the People as Real. The Bible has proven itself over and Over again as trust Worthy
