While speaking at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville, she revealed that she loves to reinterpret the Bible while also accusing of God lying to Eve in the Garden of Eden. For this reason, she claims that Eve actually made a great choice to eat the fruit, which Adam trusted her to make, and in the same way, we should trust women to decide to abort their babies and make the best decisions for themselves.

It was earlier than the 90’s. Just before my parents left the Presbyterian Church in 1968, Princeton sent us three students to preach one evening. After the first one spewed liberal garbage at us, our assistant pastor took the podium to introduce the next speaker. He was visibly unhappy with the first guy. He said: “That will be a hard act to follow.” Someone from the audience replied very loudly: “ You mean swallow.”
My parents left the church soon afterwards and went shopping for a church in the Glendale, California area which would suit me. We settled on United Community pastored by Stuart McBirnie. That is where I met my wife of over 50 years. 😀

Why would abortion ever be perceived as something good? We have such a short time on this planet, in this life, and nothing we will ever do is more a gift or more important than being a parent. I understand there are many ways to do positive things in life and make the world better, and I understand that being a parent isn’t the path in life for everyone. That said, there are plenty of ways to avoid pregnancy when it isn’t right for you.

I grew up in a “Christian” cult as well but God rescued me from it. He is good!
