... In a podcast interview with US chat show host Joe Rogan, Mr Gibson explained his scepticism about reforms of the Second Vatican Council of the 1960s by saying: “We’ve got a pope that brought a South American idol into the church to worship.”
He said a religious ceremony was performed in the presence of the idol which, he said, “constitutes an apostasy”.
“It’s a falling away,” he explained at about half an hour into the two-hour interview. “The very nature of apostasy is that you have to be part of it to fall away from it. It’s an inside job. ...
The Pachamama, a pagan fertility god in the form of a naked and pregnant woman, was brought into the Church of Santa Maria in Traspontina during the Amazonian synod of October 2019 for use in events, rituals and to honour expressions of native American spirituality.
The statue was thrown in the River Tiber, however, by Alexander Tschugguel, an Austrian...
Pope Francis issued an apology asking forgiveness from those who were offended by the statues being thrown into the Tiber, and said that they had been displayed in the church “without idolatrous intentions”.

Most recently, in a message to an interreligious gathering in Paris for peace, Pope Francis wrote last September that the divine inspiration is present in every faith.
He told the Sant’Egidio Community that people must “be guided by the divine inspiration present in every faith, in order to join in ‘imagining peace’ among all peoples”.

Mother Mary though, whom we all know is NOT worshipped by Catholics (though it must be said she is not worshipped as others may be propagandized she is worshipped when she is not worshipped by Catholics) does not go unclothed and does not appear so in apparitions. And yet some in the past tried to link Mother Mary to Pachamama when there is no linking them together.
But this image of Pachamama has routinely been seen as unclothed, so for it to be said there were no "idolatrous intentions" concerning the Pachamama (as stated in the article) is hardly to be taken seriously given she is clearly not Mother Mary, and because that selfsame image of Pachamama that Mel referenced, as shown already, is an idol, long worshipped as such, and long considered to be a deity.

Mother Mary, Our Lady of LaSalette, 1846, to the seers then:
“Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of antichrist... but I will fight for the children of light.”
Our Lady of Garabandal, at the largely isolated community of San Sebastián de Garabandal 1961-1965, one year before Vat II convened, to the seers there:
She repeatedly made known the necessity of honoring and safeguarding the holiness of the Eucharist, and informed the seers of a coming, disastrous Synod.
Thanks! ✌️
There’s a story where a pope around 1880 had a dream about Satan talking to Jesus. The story goes that Pope Leo XIII overheard a conversation between Jesus and Satan. In the dream, Satan allegedly claimed that if given 100 years of greater power, he could destroy the Church. Jesus reportedly granted Satan the opportunity to try.
The deeper menace in Pachamama and the animist cults that idolize her is their susceptibility to demonic influence and to exploitation by malign leaders.
Alexander Tschugguel is now a legend.
