7. Empowers (2 Corinthians 12:9)

10. Reigns (Romans 5:21)

Verses

Titus 2:11 NKJV
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.

Ephesians 1:7 NKJV
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

1 Peter 5:10 NKJV
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Ephesians 2:5 NKJV

Definition of Grace

The Greek word for "grace" in the New Testament is "charis". According to Strong's Concordance, charis is defined as:

1. Grace, particularly that which causes joy, pleasure, gratification, favor, or acceptance.
2. A favor done without expectation of return; the absolutely free expression of the loving kindness of God to men.
3. The state of kindness and favor toward someone, often with a focus on a benefit given to the object.
4. A gift, benefit, or blessing bestowed as a result of the favor and kindness of the giver.

The essence of grace is giving. And we might add an 11th thing grace does which is that it enriches:

2 Corinthians 8:9 NKJV
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

We all need more grace:

James 4:6 NKJV
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

Hebrews 12:28 NKJV
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
