AMERICA Prayer Vigil (Nov. 5, 2024) *Prayer*

Dear Abba Father, on this election eve we pray,

What a marvelous Father You are! Loving King and tender Judge, You are powerful and capable of totally wiping out all evil in this world with just Your Word, yet amazingly You hold back for Your children's sake!

Full of grace, You patiently grant the lost chance upon chance to repent of all sin and come to You for redemption! We live in a dying fallen world full of delusion, danger and evil all around, yet You protect and provide for us, undeservedly. There is no greater Mercy and Love than Yours!

Holy Father, we look forward to the day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord the Greatest! We will shout and proclaim Your Name and Glory wherever we go, oh Holy Savior Lord Jesus Christ! Hallelujah to the one Mediator and Victor, victorious over all evil and death! You alone laid Your life down for us and have crushed the serpent's head. In Victory we lift Your Name high to all honor and praise and all thanks to You, Majestic King and Giver of Life! Oh how comforted and secure we are in Your glorious presence. Hallelujah hallelujah to our King, Lord Jesus Christ! Amen.

What a great privilege and blessing to be called Your children! So grateful, true and loyal exclusively to You, our Father God, --Your Faithful Saints

Abba Father, on this Election Day eve, Your Free Republic intercessors come together once again to stand in the gap for America and all the nations, especially Your beloved nation of Israel. We confess and repent of our national sins of pride, self-worship, rebellion, depravity, scoffing and mockery of You, the one True Holy God. We tear down all the idolatries we foolishly attempt to place above You. We confess our sins and cry out to our Savior and King, Lord Jesus Christ, to save us as only He can do!

Tonight the time of campaigning comes to an end. We have proclaimed Your Truths, even unto deadly retaliation. Tomorrow begins our American duty to cast our votes for the candidates who best honor You.

We pray all eligible citizens go to vote tomorrow, even if neither candidate is perfect as Lord Jesus is. The watchman on the wall is sounding warning for America, and we know if we don’t vote in diligence, evil rushes in to fill the void.

We thank you Father God, for Your Holy Spirit burning bright and illuminating the path foreward. Help us be the salt and light in this dying world. Help us be Your ambassadors as we await the return of Lord Jesus Christ. Help us speak boldy Your Truths.

We know no candidate is perfect, Lord. We know only Jesus Christ is the only hope we have to save and heal America. There are no political heroes. Jesus is the ONLY HOPE. We cry out to our Savior that He use these imperfect people for His Righteousness in our nation.

Show us Holy Father, as we vote, which which candidate will effect the best policies that ultimately glorify You. The candidate who will:

—Choose righteous judges to rule our judicial system.
Isaiah 1:26
“I will restore your judges as at the first,
And your counselors as at the beginning.
Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.”

—Protect our borders and boundaries, with strong policies of legal immigration an law enforcement.
Acts 17:26
“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings”

—Support of Your nation Israel.
Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

—Defend religious liberty, our 1st Amendment, so no one is pressured to violate their conscience through pressure to commit abortions, take injections formulated through abortion, bake cakes celebrating depravity, teach children how to be depraved, etc.

—Defend biological sex. The enemy has outright stated they’re coming for our children.
Genesis 1:27
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

—Defend life. Although neither presidential is truly pro-life, one supports abortion up to birth, and is willing to let a baby who survived an abortion attempt die after the fact. Holy Father God, whatever it takes, please remove this national curse and holocaust of abortion from America. God hates hands that shed innocent blood.

Holy Father, although we know government is not the answer for America, only You are. Jesus is our ONLY HOPE! We cry out for national revival! We wish to be your salt and light to advance Your kingdom and stem the tide of evil that has washed over our land. As Pastor Hamrick says, “Let your voices be heard, your votes counted and God arise to scatter His enemies for His glory. For the Glory of God! FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!” In the Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

The Watchman and His Message

1 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, 3 when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, 4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life.

I need a translation for an Ebenezer and a fetter.

Praying the Lord will rebuke the evil schemes of the enemy and allow honesty to win in tomorrows election. Praying the voting and the totals are all true.

As believers in Christ Jesus we have authority to defeat the wicked plans of the enemy and to bind up that evil authority that Satan is giving to Obama, to Kamala and to Tim Walz. I pray the ground shakes under the feet of these wicked and corrupt people.

Jesus tells us in Matthew Chapter 18 that he will bind in Heaven what we bind on the Earth. Pray that the Lord will bind this evil away from us all tomorrow.

For National Repentance, Deliverance and Truth

Dear Lord and Heavenly King, thank You that there are no boundaries in Your kingdom and that You ultimately rule over heaven and earth, despite the fact that wickedness and evil seeks to dominate the nations of the world as well the lives of individuals.

I pray that You would set up godly men and women in positions of leadership and power in our own nation and in all the nations who exercise authority in our world today.

Thank You for those leaders that are prepared to stand up for truth and righteousness. Give them boldness to challenge those who want to to remove the principles of freedom and tolerance and establish the flawed principles that come from human wisdom.

Lord, I pray that You would guide the leaders of many nations to repent of their sins and turn to the path of peace that only comes from You. Help them to understand that the only peace that will ever be established on earth will be under the rule of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, after Your wrath has been poured out on a Christ rejecting sinful world. Have mercy Lord. Have mercy on all the leaders of nations who do not know You. I pray that many will be saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whose name I pray, amen.

Does God expect Christians to vote?

It is our contention that it is the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote and to vote for leaders who promote Christian principles. God is most certainly in control, but that does not mean we should do nothing to further His will. We are commanded to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-4). In terms of politics and leadership, there is evidence in Scripture that God has been displeased with our choices of leadership at times (Hosea 8:4). The evidence of sin’s grip on this world is everywhere. Much of the suffering on earth is because of godless leadership (Proverbs 28:12). Scripture gives Christians instructions to obey legitimate authority unless it contradicts the Lord’s commands (Acts 5:27-29; Romans 13:1-7). As born-again believers, we ought to strive to choose leaders who will be themselves led by our Creator (1 Samuel 12:13-25). Candidates or proposals that violate the Bible’s commands for life, family, marriage, or faith should never be supported (Proverbs 14:34). Christians should vote as led through prayer and study of both God’s Word and the realities of the choices on the ballot.

Agreeing with you in Prayer and claiming the authority of the Word, Jesus tells us that when two or more are gathered together in his Holy name he promises to be in the midst of us.

Why Government is Not the Answer

John Adams, the second President of the United States, said, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Did you catch that? “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” That is the reason the United States and many other countries in the world are in such terrible shape. Our world is becoming increasingly godless. While the vast majority of people in the world believe in the existence of God, an increasing majority live their lives as if God does not exist.

While the same principles apply to other nations, for the rest of this article, we will be discussing the United States specifically.

I have no desire to ever run for political office. There are many ancillary reasons, but at the core I firmly believe that government is not the answer. There is no perfect government because every government is filled with imperfect people. And while I believe the United States has (or had) the best government in the history of the world, it is failing due to precisely what John Adams declared. Our government is wholly inadequate to govern immoral, ungodly, and selfish people.

None of the political parties seem to understand this. None of them embrace the Christian worldview on just how wretchedly sinful humanity is without Christ (Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 1:18-32; 3:10-23). Is there a more apt description of modern society than Genesis 6:5? “The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.”

The Democratic solution is to add new regulations. The Republican solution is to tweak the existing regulations. The Libertarian solution is to get rid of virtually all regulations. None of those methodologies are truly solutions to anything. The problem is sin. It does not matter how many laws we create. Evil and greedy people will find ways around the laws or find lawyers to rescue them after they break the laws. Creating laws, tweaking laws, or removing laws will never solve the problem of sin. We are all infected with sin and inherently greedy (Matthew 6:19-24; Luke 12:15; Ephesians 5:5; 1 Timothy 6:9-10; Hebrews 13:5). Government cannot cure it. Only Jesus Christ can deliver us from it.

I do not need a government to tell me that murder is wrong, that stealing is wrong, or that lying is wrong. I know these things are wrong because God has written His Law on my heart and from His Word. Sure, governmental punishment can be a deterrent, but ultimately I strive to avoid sin because I love God and want to live my life in a way that is pleasing to Him. That is the only biblically-valid deterrent to sin—not fines or prison sentences, but a desire to please God. That is what our society is lacking. And that explains why our country is floundering.

I am not saying that all of the early Americans or even all of the founding fathers were Christians. But at least they had a biblically-informed view of the world and a Christian sense of morality. The Constitution is arguably the best piece of governmental legislation in the history of the world. But it is inadequate in a country that is increasingly filled with people who desire only evil all the time.

True change is only possible through Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). The only reform that will truly impact our society is the reformation of people becoming new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17) and having our minds transformed (Romans 12:1-2).

Governing a godless, selfish, and greedy people is like trying to restrain the wind or grasp oil in your hand (Proverbs 27:16). Or, as John Adams so aptly put it, it is like trying to restrain a whale with a net. Due to 200+ years of US history, the nets have become significantly more complex since John Adams’ day, but due to the ever-increasing wickedness (Romans 6:19) of our society, the whale has become exponentially larger and more dangerous. Without repentance from sin and faith in Christ, it is looking increasingly like the only solution is a harpoon.
