There is only one being in the universe that has ever taught man cannot keep God's law, the one who has ever caused man to sin. And he is the only one being that has ever taught God is responsible for sin…

That would be satan.
Yes, it’s obvious. I wonder why, then, so many Evangelicals keep saying we can’t keep God’s law?
Have you ever been angry and hateful? Or look with lust? or want something you don’t really need? Disobeyed your parents?
The jews say there are 613 things that a person SHOULD do, and 365 things you should NOT do....Jesus went farther than this with His statement about being angry with your brother.
Good luck if you think you can keep the law. You don’t have a high enough view of the law if you think so.
Or GOD.
Be ye holy as God is holy.
Jesus set the bar really, really high with the Beatitudes when He revealed it wasn't just keeping the Law with the body, but even to keeping the intent of the Law in your heart.
We can’t keep them perfectly.
If you believe in the one person who did, well, He’s your Savior.
And that Savior is Jesus Christ.
Correct. The focus is on overcoming.
They are so easy and we are very weak unfortunately 😔
Therefore all things whatsoever
ye would that men should do to you,
do ye even so to them.
Well said.
Thou shalt not lie.
“Does this dress make me look fat?”
“Um...”
It’s impossible to keep the 10 Commandments.
No, you can’t keep them. Jesus made that clear. That is proof you need a redeemer. Jesus said if you list you have already committed the sin. He also said all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god.
You should try your best always… but you are destined to fail.
The law cannot save. It is a schoolmaster showing us our need for Christ’s righteousness, not our own.
Galatians 3:11-14
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Jesus came into the world that by His propitiatory sacrifice to the Father we might be made pure.
Him, who knew no sin, he hath made sin for us: that we might be made the justice of God in him. – Second Corinthians 5:21
He has not abandoned us to our sins.
I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. - Isaiah 57:15
It is we who have abandoned Him. The Jews once had the temple sacrifice which God would accredit as able to forgive sin, but after generations and centuries of betraying Him, God had to send His only Son to make He Himself the acceptable sacrifice capable of remitting sin and making us holy. But men under the influence of the devil refused to believe even when He performed miracles that all could see.
2 And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.” 3 And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” 4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 7 And he rose and went home. 8 When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men. Matthew 9:2–8
In like manner when Jesus gave the same power, not necessarily to perform obvious miracles, but to forgive invisible sins, the devil entered the hearts of a few envious men so that like the dog who growled the ox away from eating the hay in Aesop’s fable, they should not become free of their sins and become able to be good, instead falsely saying “you don’t need to confess your sins” to one of those duly appointed by Jesus Himself to the office of forgiving sin.
Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be to you. And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his side. ... He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. John 20:19-23
Can you trust what Jesus says to you?
It’s not the 10 commandments the evangelicals have a problem with. It’s just the 4th commandment. They aren’t fooling anyone but themselves.
Technically, Gentiles don’t fall under the 10 Commandments that were handed to the Hebrews. We fall under the Laws to the Sons of Noah. Though in practice, there is 80% overlap.
——>Jesus went farther than this with His statement about being angry with your brother.
Yes, He sure did. It’s discussed in Matthew 5. Christ starts off by saying this:
Matthew 5:
17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
THEN, He goes even further...breaking the commandments in your heart...lust = adultery, hate = murder, etc...
His law stands forever and those who call themselves Christians had better act and think accordingly, because we will all be judged by the law of God. “Good luck” to those who think otherwise.
Romans 2:
12All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous.
It’s Saturday.
Shouldn’t you be resting, instead of breaking the Sabbath?
I don’t recall the exclusionary clause in that commandment “...except if you’re pushing the SDA agenda online...”
