Have you ever noticed it seems God does things at the last minute? He’s even been called “The God of the Eleventh Hour.” At times it feels like the 11:59th hour. Why do you suppose this is?
- Abraham and Sarah had to wait for God’s promise of a child until they were very old and beyond childbearing years...
- The Israelites were being chased until they thought they’d drown...
- And Lazarus, he was already dead when Jesus showed up...
Which is the greater miracle, a healing or a resurrection? Some could pass a healing off as he was going to get well anyway, or maybe it was something man did to make him well. But to be brought back to life after being in the grave for four days?
Sometimes believing means waiting – waiting until things look beyond repair. Sometimes it does seem God waits until beyond the last minute. But He does it for a good reason: to show His greater glory.
But there’s another reason...Perhaps it’s a test of our faith...

God does everything in His own timing. His nature is eternal, ours is not. The problem is not with Him, it is with us thinking that we know better than Him.
Maybe God’s timing is perfect and we are impatient.

I have a similar problem with (usually nervous or controlling) people who want something from me for which I promise a delivery time but they have no idea how I’m going to do the job or deliver.
