The End of the Modern World
Glory To God For All Things ^ | 10/07/2024 | Stephen Freeman

Things are not progressing. They change, but they do not progress. History is not going anywhere. Some changes bring benefits, many changes bring misery. The myth of progress is a narrative that justifies the destruction of traditional ways of life (or anything else that is seen as standing in its way). It frequently takes no account of the collateral damage left behind in its march. Progressive-driven accounts of history carefully ignore the carnage and dislocations brought about by change. Progress is the narrative told by those who receive the profits.

Back up the tape about 500 years, persuade one Martin Luther to not apostasize, and press play again.

If it wasn't Luther, it would have been someone else. The Church was a mess and desperately needed to get back to the basics.

When you adopt policies to let savages in through your gates, deliberately don’t integrate them, let the criminals in, feed them, give them citizens confiscated money, while ignoring your own citizens in real crises and disasters,..

Well, don’t act all surprised, those in charge wanted it to happen.

LDS.

Luther lives in the minds of some Catholics 24/7.

Show us what predominantly Catholic country is better off than any Protestant country or the US, which has deep roots in Protestantism.

Is South America? The Philippines? Haiti? Mexico?

This is a powerful essay. It is worth reading.

I started rejecting the lie in 1994. Life immediately got better.

I came back to Christ in 2012. Life immediately got better.

I have been purposeful in my life choices for nearly all of my life.

Purposefully rejecting the lie and accepting Christ are the two most important purposeful decisions I have made.

Well, it was the deeply protestant-rooted country, Germany, that started two World Wars.

Are you proud of that?

I enjoyed my trip to Spain. I was quite impressed by Paris when I was there.

Most folks from most places are decent.

Fashions, technology and personal tastes change. But human nature does not. Different actors, different sets. But the same script.
