Erick Stakelbeck of @TheWatchmanwithErickStakelbeck joins Raj Nair to discuss the escalating Israel-Iran conflict and the ramifications of Islamic Republic’s enormous ballistic missile attack against Israel on October 1, 2024. As Israel vows retaliation, Bible experts and prophecy watchers are asking: is Bible prophecy unfolding in front of our eyes? Watch now on Can I Trust the Bible? on TBN!

I found this discussion and I've got it rolling right now
IMHO, Israel will not let Iran's missile attacks go unanswered - what will happen? I do not know exactly.
I DO know - we are coming up on the 1-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack on 10/07/2023
As I recall, 1200+ murdered and 300(?) kidnapped (some of which were also murdered by Islamic terrorist group Hamas)
The Temple in Jerusalem has to be rebuilt before the “end time”. Per the Bible. Jesus said there will always be wars and rumors of wars.
I believe it will happen (or be authorized) as part of the 7-year deal of ‘Peace and Security’
Now, there’s no way to prove that. Only that such a Temple is operating when the Abomination the Causes Desolation occurs in the middle of the 7 years.
Matthew 24:15-21
King James Version
15 When ye therefore shall see the Abomination of Desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day:
21 For then shall be Great Tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

“The Temple in Jerusalem has to be rebuilt before the “end time””
A building could possibly be built in Jerusalem, but it will only be a building. A Temple, given unction by God, will not be built in Jerusalem or anywhere else. Rendered obsolete 2,000 years ago, the veil was supernaturally split down the middle and sacrifices ended.
I agree. There will be a third “so called” temple. There is no Biblical requirement that it should occupy the area where the Dome of the Rock is now...just men’s sense of “traditions” that raise expectations that it should be re-built there.
The ultimate sacrifice was done for us. I suspect the “third” temple is not a desired “good’ thing in our Lord’s eyes as it throws his sacrifice for our sakes back into his face. Yet it is a sorrowfully prophesied thing!
[Yet it is a sorrowfully prophesied thing!]
I have tried to explain to some, for years, why it’s actually going to happen. But there are some (not you) that never listen.
I guess they’ll find out.
“Yet it is a sorrowfully prophesied thing!”
I will have to disagree. It is not prophesied, it is believed.
Jesus explicitly dated the “end of the age” with the destruction of the Temple to whch he directed the disciples gaze — “none of THESE stones..”
The “end” he talked about would be the complete destruction of Jerusalem, and theologically, the end of the Mosaic structure of worship.
Well the scriptures speak of a third temple that the Beast will attempt to occupy and set up the final abomination of desolation that Jesus foretold. The Preterist view is that it happened when the Romans brought their idols and standards into the temple prior to its destruction...I hold to the futurist view, in that the beast and his false image are that final abomination of desolation still to come.
The Bible mentions a third temple...”in the latter days” but in a off handed way like its existence was not as important as opposed to what happens inside of it.
“The Bible mentions a third temple...”in the latter days” “
Can you cite me that precise verse?
I trust no one who tells me what the bible is predicting.
Some times that works...
Daniel 9:27:26Then after the sixty-two weeksh the Messiah will be cut off and will have nothing.
Then the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations have been decreed. 27And he will confirm a covenant with many for one week,i but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the abomination that causes desolation,j until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.”
There is your third temple.
The Chapter 12 is more specific about the abomination of desolation being in the last days.(which occurs “in the temple” mentioned in Daniel 9:27.”
“9“Go on your way, Daniel,” he replied, “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10Many will be purified, made spotless, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand.
11And from the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12Blessed is he who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
13But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
“There is your third temple.”
Doesn’t say a word about a third temple. The Bible never says a word about a third temple. That is only a concept that has to be inserted to support other beliefs.
Jesus applied the warning of the abomination of desolation to the temple where they were standing. It was the one to be destroyed, along with the Jewish nation. He tells his disciples that was a clue to get out of Dodge.
Abomination of desolation was the Roman army.
Well that was your opinion. In my opinion, Daniel 12 spoke also of the abomination of Desolation that would be in the “last days” at the end of which when many “rise from the grave”..some to glory and some to shame. Daniel asked the meaning of it but Daniel was told to go his way because the meaning of the prophecy would be sealed until the time of the end. So obviously the Abomination that Makes desolate of Daniel 12 was not the Roman temple destruction that Jesus spoke of but rather in another temple that would have been built sometime in the far future. History doesn’t repeat itself but it does often rhyme as Twain once wrote. There was no rising of the grave of many peoples at the razing of the temple in 70 ad. There were some patriarchs that rose from the grave at the instant Jesus died but what happened to them after no one knows, perhaps they were quietly taken to Paradise. But this isn’t what Daniel 12 was speaking of!
Abominations of desolation as written of in the Bible only happen in temples. There will be a third temple....but...I don’t say this is a good thing...but it will be a thing!
“So obviously the Abomination that Makes desolate of Daniel 12 was not the Roman temple destruction that Jesus spoke of but rather in another temple.”
I choose to believe that Jesus was capable of using words correctly. When he pointed at the temple and said not one stone would be left on another when the abomination of desolation appeared, then he meant the stones he was pointing at. He was not referring to just the temple but also the whole city and population.
As for thr ressurection, it would not be recorded in history. No one on earth would know. How could they?
The first generation Chritians bellieved in more than one resurection. Paul spoke of attaining a better resurrection.
Sure Jesus was capable of using the words he wished to speak. Whether or not Jesus was unsealing the sealed prophetic words given in Daniel 12 when he said what he said about the temple (as it was in 33 ad) is a matter of disagreement between you and me. And yes the resurrections spoken of will have been known to all or else the angel speaking to Daniel would not have mentioned it. Passages in Thessalonians refer to the resurrection of believers and the carrying off of those living afterwards. There will be a resurrection of saints killed by the Beast in the tribulation and then a final resurrection at the White throne judgment of those who had not died in Christ. Collectively in the last time or the “latterdays”. The angel threw all the resurrections sort of together but the rest of the Bible offers clarification of the different resurrections that are yet to come...which I believe Daniel 12 speaks of.
Daniel 12 was speaking of the very latter days beyond 70 ad. There will be another temple and it will see the final Abomination of Desolation. That is my belief...but you can have the last word.
