A Fort Worth pastor who was fired from his church after being accused of watching pornographic content at work is claiming he was wrongfully terminated and is seeking to get his job back.
In 2016, Scott Crenshaw was fired from his job as senior pastor at New River Fellowship Church after it was discovered he’d been using the church’s computer to access “inappropriate images.” The story went viral and Crenshaw sought counseling at Pure Desire, which deals in recovery from sex addiction.
He had a quick stint at Tabernacle of Praise before becoming the senior pastor of Lake Country church in 2018, but then he was abruptly terminated two weeks ago after claims that he’d been caught up to his old sins. Crenshaw hired an attorney, Mark Lane, who told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:
“(Crenshaw) has not looked at any inappropriate images. That is an absolutely baseless claim on behalf of the elders. They’ve engaged in nothing but rumor mill and scandalous discussion with employees with malice,”
Crenshaw, who is married and has four children, is seeking a public apology from the church and is calling for the elders to restore his position as senior pastor. Furthermore, he is seeking financial compensation for damages suffered due to the allegations. According to FWST:
When the elders were first made aware of the allegations, they initially offered for Crenshaw to take a 60-day sabbatical in his support, Lane told the Star-Telegram. The elders then rescinded their offer, offering a 90-day leave of absence. Two days after the offer for him to temporarily step down, Crenshaw was fired, according to Lane.
Another out of control porn addict. Confidential studies suggest up to 30% of clergy have problems with porn.
Years ago I warned about the dangers of porn. Certain freepers thought I was a Pollyanna.
The reason I was posting was porn’s link to the abortion industry.
Now do you all believe me?
Worship in everything, including, apparently, in watching porn.
Satan also celebrates finding this kind of information
No “n”? What’s with dropping letters these days? I’ve seen ir more lately. M*rder, k*ll and some others. What’s up with that? 🤔😊👍
Yes, I do.
Sadly.
I miss Adrian Rogers.
IF he was innocent and falsely accused of such a thing there is no way he would want to be restored as pastor of that church or even continue to belong to that church.
Sad.
It aids in skirting filters so the article has increased visibility.
No.
What’s next, firing people for having impure thoughts?
The. Issue here is proper use of work time and resources, not porn. And they’d better have a crystal clear definition of what s inappropriate.
So it’s not just Catholic hierarchy who try to rehab a clergyman & then ship him to another parish. Who knew? /s
Oh, filters. “That” there are filters is concerning.
It matters what denomination that church is and what it espouses.
If it teaches the traditional church doctrine of being under the law, then, as the Bible says, “The law strengthens sin” (1 Cor. 15:56) and you’re toast.
Article about a rascally “megachurch” two posts above yours. You missed it.

I figure it’s closer to 90%. Men do what men do. Especially when it’s free and private. I used to fix friends computers way back in the 1990’s, when there wasn’t much of an internet. Some were church elders in my church. It was always fun to sort the internet cache by file size and just take a gander at the file names. But I don’t know what the difference is between having seen it and having a “problem” with it. I’ve had to turn off modern TV shows because they contained what, in the 70’s, we called porn. I feel bad for the acters in modern TV and movies. They are turned literally into porn stars. Usually I just scan through the scend but sometimes I just turn it off. The story is not worth it.
Then, of course, there is the Biblical prohibition against Christians bringing lawsuits against each other....
1 Corinthians 6:1-11
What is meant by a pastor “at work”?
