New Ways Ministry is proud to announce the presentation of our Bridge Building Award to Bishop John Stowe, OFM, Conv., in recognition of his compassionate ministry, courageous witness, and inspiring leadership on behalf of LGBTQ+ Catholics.
The award will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, November 15, 2024, where Bishop Stowe will deliver remarks and a reception will follow. (More details on the time and location of the event are below.)

Bishop John Stowe, OFM, Conv.
Bishop Stowe was named bishop of the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky by Pope Francis in 2015. Since then, he has been a consistent and strong supporter of LGBTQ+ issues in the U.S. Catholic Church.
In addition to leading and participating in numerous LGBTQ+ events, Bishop Stowe supported the Tyler Clementi Foundation statement to protect vulnerable youth and the federal Equality Act, although this act was opposed by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. He has stood alongside the LGBTQ+ Catholic community by accepting a transgender man as a hermit in his diocese. New Ways Ministry’s Bridge Building Award honors those individuals who by their scholarship, leadership, or witness have promoted discussion, understanding, and reconciliation between the LGBT community and the Catholic Church. The award was first given in 1992 to Father Charles Curran, a renowned moral theologian. Other awardees were: Bishop Thomas Gumbleton (1995); Sister Margaret Farley, RSM (2002); Mary Ellen and Casey Lopata (2005); John J. McNeill (2009), Father James Martin, SJ (2016).

yeah when the next skating party in hell is scheduled
The bishop of Lexington is also notorious for his vicious attack on Nicholas Sandmann when he was falsely accused in the media.
Makes sense. Stowe has long seemed like America’s faggiest bishop. And that’s saying something, as the field ain’t exactly uncrowded
I expect Francis to name him a cardinal.
In other words he has been commuting Heresy and Scandal.
> Actually this is the best thing for a LGBTQ+ person to do with his/her life.
A hermit will spend his time in secluded prayer and meditation removed from the temptations of the flesh.
This about the only path to salvation for most of the homosexuals.
I expect Francis to name him a cardinal.

While Satan’s Pope continues to do everything he can to tarnish and trash the RCC, I rarely see/hear any critical commentary from the established Latin Mass societies.
No; not as long as she continues to masquerade as a "man".
5 A woman shall not be clothed with man's apparel, neither shall a man use woman's apparel: for he that doeth these things is abominable before God. Deuteronomy Chapter 22
If she prays long enough she may come to the truth
Having a bishop recognizing and treating her as a “man isn’t going to help.
Bridge is the word perverts use to promote acceptance of their sins, like Fr John...hmmm. Can’t remember. Anyway, anyone know why they all use the word bridge?
Big phallic award.
I agree.
My point is that such a person spending all of their time alone in prayerful penance and contemplation of the Bible may come to realize their error and sin.
Either that or being that their thoughts are disordered, will commit suicide.
I will pray that it is the former.
The institutional church has AIDS.
Both the boys’ bishop, Foys of Covington, and Stowe, attacked them. Bp Foys had the decency to apologize. Stowe did not. Stowe’s attack seemed to mainly revolve around the MAGA hats the boys wore; I think he (Stowe) has a terminal case of TDS.
