Technically, in the pre-Christian “Old Testament” which is still the Holy Scriptures including the Torah for Jews, especially for the observant ones who call the commandments mitzvot, there are exactly 613 in the Bible.
248 Positive Commandments (do’s) and 365 Negative (don’ts).
I break a lot of them such as these 3:
Not to speak derogatorily of others—— Lev. 19:16
Not to take revenge—— Lev. 19:18
Not to bear a grudge—— Lev. 19:18
Some can only be performed in the Temple which was destroyed.
Great response. Yet the self righteous who claim to follow the Law while condemning others, would disagree.
But fortunately this is now posted on the Sabbath. ;>))
