My understanding is that Pakistan is actually a palatable and beautiful spot for Western tourists, much to the chagrin of the media’s hyperfocus on the terrorist networks post 9/11. And regions like the Hunza valley boast of ethnic and religious diversity plus massively stunning geographical wonders.
As a Christian myself, the missionary narratives and approaches to certain places have irked me the wrong way. It is my understanding for example, that postpartum and pregnancy care in certain Muslim countries (especially the hyper developed ones like UAE) put maternity care in the US to shame. Why was this doctor only warned and not fired immediately the first time?
Sounds funny. I am waiting for the punchline.
A country can have areas of great natural beauty, or even man-made wonders, and still be a source of great evil.
Austria comes to mind...
